I have my choice of either of these two Icelandic Sheepdog puppies.
Which one would you choose?

Omigosh! They are both absolutely adorable! How can you choose? I have several friends who picked the puppy who was the "runt" of the litter, the one who held back a little out of shyness, but was very friendly and loving when approached... not a total fraidy cat, err, dog...just a little shy at first as puppies) and they have gotten the most loving, easily-trained and intelligent adult dog companions out of the deal. They are all excellent watchdogs, but without any aggressive attitude. I prize a sweet temperament and intelligence, so that's what I would look for. But either one looks like a gem! Keep us updated on which you end up with (why not both)! And post lots more photos, please, so we can coo!

I like the look of the one on the left side of the picture. He's got a kind looking face, and the markings a little off symetrical just add a bit to the character. I am sure they are both wonderful pups.
Pick the one that seems to have the best temperment, not soley on looks alone (sounds like good advice all around, not just for pups! )

With such an important matter, it's important to check with a cuteness expert - so I had my 7 year old daughter look at the pictture and choose. She immediately chose the pup on the left. She'll waive her cuteness consultant fee if you promise to post more pics! Alec

I chose my current springer from a litter of 10 because I thought she exhibited the most adventurous spirit by going off exploring while the others stayed close to Mom.

Now I realize she was probably just confused - Kerry turned out to be the dumbest springer I've ever had! So much for puppy-pickin' theories!

PS - Intelligence ain't everything - she's sweet and affectionate, a good hunter and a great traveling companion.

Absolutely take both! Dogs are social creatures and should have company! So why do I have only one?

I vote for both...

and a really BIG vacuum cleaner!

But if you must only do 1.. it's the one with the strongest heartstring tug. You pick!
