Purchasing a TT from a private party with escrow.com

Has anyone used escrow.com for a purchase? This seems to be the best option I've seen, especially for long distance purchases.

I'd be more inclined to go with a deposit and keep that middleman out of our deal, but that's me...

Also, I wouldn't be giving anyone the rest of the money until I had inspected the goods and determined they were 'as represented' with no deal-killer flaws. I don't have to argue with anybody about it if the money is still in my jeans.
