Purchasing used Bigfoot in Canada and bringing back to US

Hello all. New member here. I have two questions that perhaps someone can provide some guidance.

First, I just found a 1981 17' Bigfoot trailer for sale in Vancouver, BC. It was listed today on Kijiji and they want $5,900. From the pics provided, it appears to be in good shape. Is $5,900 in the ballpark for this unit? Obviously I'd run up to look at it before purchasing (only a one hour drive for me from Bellingham, WA).

Secondly, does anyone know what issues there might be in purchasing the trailer in Canada and bringing home to Washington? I'm fairly new to Washington and haven't dealt with border issues yet. I do have an enhanced driver's license and can cross the border without issue.

Thanks so much in advance for any help!

Mark

Mark I have purchased in the US and brought back to Canada. Under the Free trade agreement you will not pay duty. If you do a google on the topic you should be able to find how to do it going in your direction. We actually have a Canadian website on the topic. Its pretty easy to do.

It has been discussed here several times. Do a search on it. Unless things have changed at federal level anything over 25 years old is ok and doesn't need the DOT labeling. You will have to fill out importing paperwork at the border. At state level you will have to figure that out and be sure you take any documents you need with you.
