If you've been eating lots of beans and wieners, we might not want to be standing behind you at all... Too bad we can't capture all that methane we produce and use it as fuel.

I know people who don't need beans for an excuse.

Class 1. My 1984 Scamp is set up for a class 1 hitch, as it has a class 1 coupler on it. It is about 25% under the 2,000 pound limit of it's own coupler and the hitch on my car. I wouldn't want to tow much more with my car, anyway.

Kind of lightweight and short wheelbase, but to the plus side the rear overhang is about nonexistent.
I have an off the shelf hitch... Curt brand. All of the big hitch companies make them for the xD. It mounts to existing bolt holes in the chassis.

I have a 5-speed manual, and I drive around 55-60 when towing. The tires aren't rated to go any faster than that, and I don't want to be one of those people going down the highway towing a trailer at 80 MPH.

I believe my camping trips will be shorter and less due to gas prices. I travel a hundred mile round trip daily commuting to work so I already pay quite a bit for gas. My budget is running dry for gas....lol.

and yes, you must be a member of CasitaForum to view it. Sorry.

If you're a senior or have a disability, your cost is 50% less for life. I try to refrain from using the on-line reservation system because if you have a change in plans, you pay a cancellation penalty. I've rarely had any issue with just showing up and being able to get a nice space. Many also have very nice and clean rest rooms and showers. Come to think of it, I cannot think of a single National Forest that I have been disappointed with, and I've been to a bunch of them. No KOA on the other hand... ;-)
I wish we had big national forests out here in the mid-Atlantic states! We have quite a few state parks with campgrounds, and most of them are around $30 a night. They usually have electrical hookups and good bath facilities.

The $60 campground I referenced is in a resort area in the Poconos... Where we are having a FGRV meetup this summer. The most I have ever paid for a campsite is around $32 a night. The same campground (a MD state park) was just $4 a night back in 1994.

Jesse, I don't know what the deal is in Maryland, but camping is free in PA state forests. They're nothing like the vast size of the national forests in the western states, but it's at least something.

There are no national forests in Maryland. I have camped at state parks in PA, and they have all been around $30-33 a night just like Maryland. The thing that annoys me is that I am not allowed to use my kayaks at PA state parks since I am not a resident. MD has no such rules. Nobody needs a permit, either. Each state has it's quirks, that's for sure!

If you think not being able to use your kayaks sucks, we were all over New York, and no New York state parks allow dogs. WTF, I thought every RV'er has a dog. As for PA, the Allegheny National Forest is among my favorite. Really beautiful, and lots of places to kayak and for the dogs to swim ;-)

Greg, Hubby says he saw where in Mexico gas is 2.80 a gallon. Can you drive across to fill up?

No, I would have to cross at Presidio, Tx. Kinda sorta too far and I don't have a passport. Also they like to cut heads off of white people, I like my head.

Mexico is listed as one of the most dangerous places to visit in the tourist bureau. Would rather visit other places.

We are $1.31 L X 4 = $5.24 US gal
If you are local to border and station is also maybe?

Love our light weight trailer and the Corolla
We will not win and drag races, the slow and steady still wins the cash day.
