It appears a new FGRV manufacturer, Nest Caravans, (Bend, OR) is getting ready to add a new small camper to the market with a unique modern style. Rather than ask questions in another link, and drag it off topic, I decided to start this thread for making comments and asking questions until they have their own manufacturer listing on this forum. So if Nest is listening, I have some questions that I wish you would address:
1) Where is the hydronic heating system located, how does it draw air and vent, and how is the heat distributed throughout the cabin? Does the
refrigerator vent to the outside? Is there a hood over the gas stove top and if so where does it vent? The graphic images don't show outside vents and interior heat circulation. One can assume the heating system is located under the front-located bed/benchs, but the graphis don't show a heat duct system or access to those areas from the inside or the outside nor is it shown on the schematic floor plans.
2) With the unibody FG construction and no continuous steel frame from tongue to bumper, where is one supposed to locate a jack for changing
tires? Is there a reinforced area along the outer edge for easy placement of a jack? Or does one need to get a jack back in under the
axle? By the way, what's the ground clearance? From the graphic images, it looks more than ample!
3) The site says the camper comes with 16" rims to "match those found on most contemporary tow vehicles". It's a great look, but the artwork suggests they are 6-lug rims, which is not typical of most other campers or contemporary tow vehicles for campers in this size class. Does the Nest really come with 6-lug hubs?
I appreciate Nest bringing new variety to the market. I'm sure more questions will follow.
