Quick survey: Where are you spending the winter??
Florida? Arizona? South Texas? others?
The older I get, the more I hate the long winters, even in Missouri. A couple weeks of cold and snow are OK but more than that and I'm ready for spring.
Just curious on where the fulltimers tend to stay in winter.

I "winter" in Florida for its the place to be...for me!. But then, I live here. Kayaking and fishing year around, always wearing sandals, shorts, short sleeve shirt. Its tough to beat our Florida winters. Hawaii comes to mind. However, I do try and "summer" elsewhere higher in elevation

I'm not a full timer but I've been going to Fla. during the winter ( For about 2-3 weeks.) for the past 8 years and camped all over the state. My advice is to stay south of Orlando for more stable warmer weather. 60 during the day and 40's at night is cold weather for them.

Unfortunately, I'm spending it in the snow belt in upstate NY - shoveled the roof last week (the house, and the trailer).
Last year it was along the Colorado River in Arizona & California, and I have to say it was far more enjoyable; enough that I'll be doing it again next year!

Florida
Ginny's answer is always Florida though we have camped in all the southern states and sometimes all the Pacific states

I "Winter" in Minnesota although the term is somewhat a misnomer. Our climate is a well kept secret because contrary to conventional wisdom it's actually quite balmy year around.
I hardly ever need a coat, gloves or scarf from mid July to mid August. Sure the swimming is a bit of a challenge due to the hard water but we have plenty of lakes on which to drive. The campgrounds are nearly empty half the year and the mosquitoes are non-existent.
Shh, you didn't hear it from me.

We live in S Ontario about an hour north of L Erie. In winter I store up snow in little piles all over the yard. This year I have stored up so much that I have pretty well run out of places to keep it. I was keeping some on the road but the city keeps sending a plough around and then they shove it up on the lawn. They filled in the driveway twice today already. Guess I'll tilt the auger a little higher and share some with the neighbours downwind. Being outdoors shovelling is a great way to share a quick minute or two with your other locals and share a remark or two.
"Hey, keep it on your &9}## lawn. I've got enough already!"

Florida here as well. It's home base for me, with all the fun stuff to do as quoted by John Hussey, "kayaking and fishing year around, always wearing sandals, shorts, short sleeve shirt." But I head north come May, maybe sooner this year, as I've taken a seasonal site in Pa to use as a home base and will take side trips from there throughout the summer.

In northeast Wisconsin, I'm retired so I could go to a warm place for the winter but I like the snow, some day I'll go for the winter just not yet.

O.K. You asked so please understand my reply:
I spend my winters like I do all 4 seasons...
Chained to a desk wishing I was on the road personally meeting other campers and enjoying the freedom and camping life style in retirement.
Maybe some day....right?
