240 days

240 days

240 days

Why should this be burned in the brains of any camper ... particularly those who love to camp in US National Forests and Army Corps of Engineer campgrounds?

240 days

Not 239 ... but 240 days

Dang ...

Ok ... literally speaking, 240 days from today is August 4th.

Now ... that happens to be my birthday.

But that's not important.

What is important ... is I'm planning on being camping on my birthday.

You can book US national forest and Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds 240 days in advance.

So ....

If you're planning on being camping on August 4 (not to celebrate my birthday ... but to celebrate life) ... you can now make your reservations today.

Right now.

Do it!

240 days

Oh yeah.

I've already make a bunch of reservations for June and July, 2006.

Have you?

Campsites are filling up quickly.

And if you have your heart set on that lakeside, mountain top campsite (in the US National Forest or ACE) ... well, odds are, if you haven't booked it already, you're going to have to camp somewhere else.

I know, I know.

Someone's going to get on here and say "I don't like reservations. I like 'first come, first serve' ...."

Well ... hey ... if you camped where I camp, you'd want to book them as far out as possible.

Make your reservations on reserveusa.com

you and Pam need to make reservations and come out to the Oregon Gathering in July .
We have always gotten a place to camp from the Oregon SP. to Glacier and Yellowstone NP. Jay

Good goin', Jay! There are 150 people signed up already -- 8 1/2 months in advance. Come on and join us, Charles and Pam!

My husband and I sit down and schedule our camping trips each month, six months in advance. Like Mike and Lori, we use them as our "get-away-from-everything-and-everyone-times." Your posting has made me think about making reservations for a week-long trip somewhere new. Hummmmmm.

Charles,
You made no mention of what you want for your birthday. Hey, none of us can read minds, ya know. Wouldn't hurt to give us a hint, at least. Might not do any good either. Didn't for me anyway. For years I have told my family and friends that all I want is a little clock, about 2 or 3 inches in diameter. A simple request. One totally ignored. Gads, just a little clock, that's all. Nothing austentatious. A tiny little timepiece. Mounted on the dash of a 27 ft. fishing boat. - - - - fiberglass of course.

I bet that Charles would want someone to wash and wax his Casita, including the bottom for his birthday. I think his kids did it one year. Right Charles ?

Jay>>kids wash and wax

Right you are Jay! That's what I ask for for every birthday ... for my grown kids and their spouses and now grandkids ... to wash and wax my trailer and Suburban.

Pam and I provide the eats and drinks, soap, wax and rags ... they provide the muscle. Doesn't cost the kids anything ... except time (which is more precious than gold!)

I even posted pictures of the "event" a long time ago (you've got a great memory Jay!)

Donald>>what you want for your birthday

Donald. I've got a while to decide! I know I'm going camping because I've already got reservations for Aug. 4th.

Hmmm. Maybe everyone here can get together and wash and wax my trailer! Ha!

And yes ... I occasional wash and wax it myself ... (including the bottom).

It's just a lot easier if I can con somebody else to do it for me!

>>little clock

Donald ... we've got a small "atomic" clock in our trailer ... that way I don't have to mess around setting the time when we pass through the various time zones and daylight savings, etc.

You can pick them up for about US$10. Now that I suggest that, I'm not sure the atomic-clock-setting signal reaches all of Canada ... I know it works along the border. Hmmm

Charles,
Thanks for the heads up re the atomic clock. Sounds like a good idea. Since nobody seems to get the hint about the mounting part, guess I could settle for something for the Casita. I tell ya, that little trailer is sure getting spoiled with all the attention given it. That's ok by me as it deserves all the mods it can get. I have to wear a cell phone on my belt just sose I will be available when it needs more attention. Scuse me, it is ringing right now.
