Rugs and doormats for "Happy Campers"

My Compact Jr is in need of a long carpet runner. But it can only be about 20" wide.

So tonight I've been busy searching Amazon for long skinny rugs with a camping theme.

Found a lot, here's a few links to some that some members here might enjoy:

Those are cute but not long. I did find some runners at Home Depot awhile back that fit the narrow corridor in the Campster.

How about a carpet warehouse that might sells remnants cheap?

I have an old runner in my Scamp, as well as a small cotton rag rug. Cotton is cold on my bare feet, the wool runner is nice, warm. Clean up? Pull them out, shake out and throw them back in.

I forgot to add- JCPenney has some nicer than Costco washable runners if you are looking for something nice, in 20" widths. Just search washable runner as a number of them come in that width (and various lengths.)

We use a yoga mat as a carpet runner. It is warm underfoot, does not absorb water, and does not slide when the dog jumps down on it. They come in a wide range of colours and you can often find them second hand.

Hi John,

Thank you for sharing these! I'm torn between the lab pulling the camper and the home is where the welcome mat is. Don't need one, have a crummy mat, but going to buy anyway! Cheers!

Wendy

thank you all for the responses......

My favorite was the doormat that said the camper looks bigger from the inside.

Bobbie I checked out Home Depot and everything was too wide. Then I found a nice runner at Wal-Mart, that surprise surprise, was made in the US. I

I couldn't use a runner before because of the floor base for the table. But I just put down a new vinyl floor in the JR and will probably not put the base back in, leaving room for the carpet.

I'll probably use a little removable tv tray table instead. I'll post a photo of the floor after I get the trim installed, makes a big improvement for little cost or effort.

I am happy to report I ordered the "Home is where the welcome mat is" and for $18 free prime shipping it's a very nicely made mat, made in US and looks just like my Shrimp Scampi!

Congrats Wendy....

Glad the doormat looks good and is high quality.

Here's a photo of the carpet runner I found, pulled back a tad to show some of the new but very inexpensive floor I put in, under $20.

Full disclosure, the wide angle lens makes my Compact Jr interior look much larger than it really is.

Those cushions are each 3' long, for a total bed length of 6'.
