Sadie Went To Dog Heaven

We had to put our 14 year old lab down this morning at the vet. My wish was for her to fall asleep on her pad on the front porch in sight of her creek. We put a bell on her because we could not find her in the dark, being black. We put a name tag on her because every one thought she lost though she wasn't. She was our Sexy Sadie after the Beetles song.

Always such a tough time but sounds like you will have lots of good memories once the pain has lessened. It's the hardest part of pet ownership for sure and these posts always make me so sad.
You picked a great picture of her to post, what a sweetie.

So very sorry to hear of your Sadie moving on. Dogs are such an important part of our lives. Losing them is so hard. I have lost a few in my time. Cherish the memories and in time, if you can, get another pup or rescue dog. She would have wanted you to do that. Peace.

Pets are with us for a short time, but leave paw prints on our hearts forever. I'm sorry for your loss Cyndi.

I'm so sorry, Cyndi. But she will live in your heart forever. Just hope the pain of your loss eases and only good memories remain.

Visit the local SPCA and adopt a new one, they are just waiting for you and you will be amazed at how many Sadie traits you will find/see in the new one.

So sorry Cindi. Her long life has been enriched by her loving owners. Fourteen years is a very long life for a Lab. I know you are sad and lonely tonight. Hugs from one dog owner who knows how you feel.

It's the lose of presence more then anything. She was there and I knew she was responsible for turning the outside motion detector light on even though she was inside. Darn dog.
