When I started my search for best trailer, it became apparent rather quickly what type of trailers held their value. The ones that are hard to find for sale or those that sale within days if not hours of going on the market. Casita, Scamp and Big Foot are snatched up very quickly.

Big Foot made an all fiberglass fifth wheel model but does not anymore that I know of.

Good Luck in your search!

The best thing to do is get your order in soon so you can start camping in it. We ordered our StarPad is Feb. for a Aug. pick up date.

I feel your pain Dan. I believe the reason you can't find a good used 5th wheel at a good price has to do with supply and demand. There's probably 50 trailers built for every one 5th wheel (just a wild guess here), so that would make fewer 5th wheels for sale to start with. Add in the trailers that are advertised locally and out of your area, now you find even fewer for sale. etc., etc., etc.

Kent, mentioned BigFoot previously making a 5th wheel, so did Quantum and Perris Pacer. I'm mentioning this, in case you see these names pop up in an ad. Here's some pics from the Album:

Good luck in your search

Go to Buysell.com and search for Bigfoot. Usually in BC...There are two Bigfoot 5er's listed right now.

It took us 2 years to find the Scamp 5th Wheel and we got a good price. This is the time of year to look because the camping season is over.

thanks all i hope to find one soon. since it is just the wife and me now it would be the perfect size and i can stay with the smaller trucks i never could understand buying those 50,000.00 diesal trucks to pull a trailer around to show off to one another..where i would be more proud of a 5er egg

Darwin>>the camping season is over.

Ah come on Darwin! Haven't you heard of survival of the fittest?

(Hmmm, on second thought, I'll bet you have!)

Camping season isn't over! It's just beginning here in Illinois (On Jan. 1) for the 2006 camping season.

Most state parks in Illinois stay open, no water, but electricity to most sites. But the best part ... no crowds!

Dan ... we'll keep our eyes out for you!

But until you score a 5th wheel ... buy some other fiberglass beauty. Time's a wastin!
