See what followed me home!

Her name is Kit!

She's a 1985, according to the title. She'll need some work, but the frame/tongue/floor are all sound. Wheee!

Yes, she was tired of being a children's playhouse and wanted to go adventuring with me and The William (dog). On the way home, I discovered that towing Kit is a lot like walking The William -- many people smile and wave.

I'll be joining the facebook UHaul forum too. So much to learn, so much to do! So much fun!

Great looking U Haul. I do have to ask one question. How do you tell it's a girl? Raz

So on trailer gender if it's cute and past a certain age it is a "she". Not sure as a male born well before this trailer I'm liking that criteria.

We all know it did not just "follow you home" I bet you had to chain it to the back bumper and drag it all the way. :-) With time your rescue will become part of the family I'm sure.

Way to go!
Next step is to update your profile from "looking and planning" to actually owning.

LOL
Well if it helps here is an explanation of why ships are also always called a she:

"It has always been customary to personify certain inanimate objects and attribute to them characteristics peculiar to living creatures. Thus, things without life are often spoken of as having a sex. Some objects are regarded as masculine. The sun, winter, and death are often personified in this way. Others are regarded as feminine, especially those things that are dear to us. The earth as mother Earth is regarded as the common maternal parent of all life. In languages that use gender for common nouns, boats, ships, and other vehicles almost invariably use a feminine form. Likewise, early seafarers spoke of their ships in the feminine gender for the close dependence they had on their ships for life and sustenance"

Learned the other day that, in French, mustard is feminine and ketchup is masculine.

I figure Kit's a she because a) she's cute instead of handsome, and b) ships are 'she'.

Towing with a 2000 Ford E-150 hightop conversion van.

I forgot all about updating my profile! I'd better go do that . . .

On reflection of Carols post I think I see her point.
I know crawling out a sleeping bag I have been told I look like death warmed over a time or two, even been called a sun of something or other, but generally not twice by the same fellow, I tended to get pretty cold and frosty over that sort of thing awful quick.

Kit is a lovely name for a camper, but I reserve the right to name mine with a fine bold name such as Vikings would use for their ships.
