Senior discount, and still losing money

Took the kid to the IMAX last week to see the new Dory movie. Ticket agent asked me if I qualified for any discounts. I said like what? He said the Senior discount was 55 and over and saves a buck. Knock me over with a feather, I will turn 56 next month. Trouble is, the kid will turn 13 next week and loose kid ticket status. Dang, save a dollar on my ticket, and her tickets go up $3!

Tim, sounds like you and I are in the same (sinking) boat! My oldest turned 13 this year, and I hit 55 in about two months. I think we can be assured of one thing: it will cost more (whatever "it" is…).

No regrets, right?!!!

Worked out ok for me as I had my third child very late so he got kids meals and kids eat free deals until he was sixteen oops I mean twelve and now I'm 59 and I'm getting senior discounts everywhere even though I'm not really a senior yet as the young cashiers just assume I'm old

OMG-- well, we saved in groceries at least double what we lost in tax credits when the kid moved out! Who knew?

I'm with Mike. I was excited to turn 55 and get the senior discounts until I tried it and was told they changed to 60. Now I wear a ball cap and only my gray temples show. the young cashiers ass-ume that I'm over the age and give me the discount without asking. BTW... if they Do ask, I can't lie without blushing and studdering, so I answer honestly.
