Yeah, but the build sheet does show something interesting that I never noticed before. I has the CSA # on it. I'm wondering if that is the same number as what is printed on the red sticker on the outside. Those #'s are worn off on my Trillium.

I wonder if any of the Trilliums have the CSA # on the build sheets?

Hi David,

After a 5 year absence, having moved "up" to an R-pod and a 27' trailer, we are very happy to have returned to the fibreglass fold with a very original 1977 Trillium 4500.

Would you be so kind as to add it to your registry.

Today I visited a 5500 up for sale in the Montreal area.
Turned out it's the very next one that came off the line after Curtis Barrett's unit above, with serial 55-3320073.

I took a lot of pictures, including the data sheet inside the cabinet. Let me know if you want them.

It's this one:
1980 Trillium 5500 Travel Trailer | Brossard, QC, Canada | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

Trillium 5500 | caravanes classiques | Longueuil / Rive-Sud | Kijiji

We decided not to go forward with the purchase.
Too late now, but I wish I had time to visit Curt's trailer and make him an offer! I was too slow on this one (too busy at work in fact), lesson learned!
So I'm still shopping around for a nice 5500...

Carl

Carl,

Yes, please post the pictures you took. There is not many 5500's in the list, and the more info, the better.

Here are the pictures from the the ad that you linked to.

Actually, I realize that most of the pictures I took are from "issues" we saw when visiting the trailer, and reasons why we didn't make an offer on it. Most are closeup pictures of specific details and not very interesting, and the best pictures of the interior are those from the ad above. This trailer was a "Deluxe" model, but the shower, water heater, water pump, screen door and oven have been removed. The trailer is still up for sale as of today, so I don't want to post my "issues" pictures for now, but here's the data sheet and an outside view:

By the way I've been looking around for a nice 5500 for about 3 years now. Since then, I've copied pretty much all 5500 pictures I could find from all these ads and websites, including fiberglassrv.com. I now have close to 200 various photos of 5500s, interior and exterior shots. Unfortunately I can't relate which photo was for which specific trailer (except in a couple cases) but they are all from 5500s. I can send or dropbox these to whoever is interested.

I'm a patient man, I'm confident one day I'll grab a nice 5500 that suits my taste. I've visited a few, specifically at the 2012 Quebec Bolerama where there was no less than six 5500 (a record apparently), two of them being amazingly nice units (but unfortunately not for sale - yet!).
This year alone, there have been, as far as I know, seven 5500s for sale in Canada and US, and 4 of them are still showing up for sale as of today, one for the 2nd time this summer by a different owner.

Well, I am of two minds on the "issues" pictures. I am a fan of brutal honesty. Were I someone thinking of traveling hundreds of kilometers to see a trailer, I would want to know of any deal breakers up front, to save me the trip. The seller is obviously hoping a prospective buyer does not see these issues. I see my self in the position of the buyer, and as such prone to giving prospective buyers a heads up. $7500 is a lot of money for a trailer with issues. I see it doesn't have the original rock guard.

Unseen issues are probably why the same trailer is for sale again.

I know what you mean. In any case, I can forward any details and my opinion to whoever wants, and I'm sure any prospective buyer would see the same issues I did, as everything was pretty obvious. I don't think the seller is trying to hide anything, I didn't ask much about the trailer because I could go and look at it myself, but I'm sure the seller would have honestly answered any questions prior to a visit.
This trailer will probably sell anyway, it's just that for me it would require too much work and investment to bring it to where I want it. Not a bad trailer, but IMO too expensive for what it is.
It is not this trailer that is up for sale for the 2nd time, it's this other one, listed by error as a "Trillium 550":
Roulotte Trillium 550 | caravanes de parc | Laval / Rive-Nord | Kijiji
Didn't look at it as it is over my budget.

Looking at my photos, I'm 99% certain that 55-3320073, that I just visited, is this same trailer:

1980 19' Trillium 5500 trailer | Aylmer, QC, Canada | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

It was for sale for $5400 two years ago, and the guy who bought it now wants $7500 for it. Not sure what he's done to it to increase the value that much, but here are the "issues" we found when we looked at it:

-no hot water heater (removed by owner).
-Shower drain plumbing removed and left open (look down the drain and you see the ground under the trailer)
-Damage in one corner of the shower stall (might be leaking, or maybe not)
-no water pump.
-Original range/oven removed, replaced by cooktop (no oven). Space where the oven was simply left open (no cabinet door, no shelves).
-missing cabinet doors below the sink.
-thin plywood with light oak finish nailed on top of the original dark wood finish pretty much everywhere to cover it up. Looks nice on pictures, but botched job IMO.
-This oak finish has damage at many places (worn out, scratches, peeling, damaged/missing edges). Not clean!
-screen door missing. Hinges holes covered with aluminium tape.
-aluminium door frame is broken in the lower left corner.
-fiberglass cracked near where the door frame is broken (stress point I guess). Crack as been patched with something in the past (unsuccessfully).
-front rock guard is falling apart, some aluminium pieces looked broken.
-owner says it rides on new tires, but they actually are old car winter tires, not ST or LT tires.
-Ensolite unglued from wall below just about every window (water damage?). Some plywood strips were screwed around the window frames to hold it back (same thin "oak finish" plywood used all around)
-laminate partially unglued from tables and countertop.
-evidence or water leaks (stains) at many places, even on the "new" plywood finish, and some of it where the cabinets meet the ceiling.
-floor covered with plywood inside all dinette seats. Impossible to check the original floor for condition, and this "new" plywood has water stains at some places.
-the entire belly band has been sealed with some unknown caulking (silicone?).
-Black water tank replaced and now held in place under the trailer by some lengths of electric wires twisted around the frame (!) and some home-made metal straps screwed directly in the fiberglass under the trailer with wood screws.

Ummm... those are some BIG issues. Since leaks appear to be present, the floor, under the plywood, is likely rotted. This implies a complete gut job.
