Tandem trailer

This tandem trailer setup is only legal in some states

It was a convenient way to take my bike to the track and have a comfortable place to be while not riding

Well that's surprising, what could go wrong?

tongue length

a long tongue makes all the difference

After building quite a few trailers I always use a longer than standard tongue. Ever see a big stone truck pulling a trailer with an extra long tongue?
Both the Burro and the MC trailer are 3' longer than stock. Measuring tongue weight is also important. While testing the tandem setup I slowly increased the speeds to check for stability. Eventually going well above the speed limit briefly with a friend following and no sign of a wobble. The combined weight of the MC and it's trailer is about #600.
To often I've seen short tongue trailers or trailers with improper weight distribution, wiggling down the road.

that's funny....

"stone trucks" have long tongues for a reason...In the case of a "truck and pony" it so that the trailer box can be jacknifed out of the way of the truck box dumping its load....in the case of a "truck and transfer" it is so that the rig can be "folded" onto itself in tight quarters (truck and trailer boxes side by side facing in opposite directions...takes a real "artist" to pull/park that one off)

got nuttin' to do with tongue weight, stability or any other imagined reason

Alberta made ?

I've never seen this model, on a Datsun chassis. I''ve had 2 nice Toyo Chinooks and a Toyota mini motorhome. Do you know where /who made it ? The year ? David (Scamp 13' and Compact Jr 13') in Fresno and Sonora CA

1966 Buco

New to the forum and looking for info on my project. Cannot find any info online about the company. Registration says 1966 Buco. Anyone ever seen another like it or have one themselves?

I might have a line on someone who can tell you. On Facebook I found a county historical society that you could call and ask around. They collect all kinds of historical data. Click image for larger version
