Hey Clive! Did not know U were a Volvo-type!

I have a pair of 1800S's - one is a bone-stock (and badly needs restoring) "63 and-a- half" (part 1800S, part P1800!) and one is a '65 that purist Volvo-philes hate me for, as it now has a V6 out of a 1998 Camaro in the engine room!

Son has a pair of 544's - one (a '63) is becoming a sorta 7/8 scale 48 Ford with a Ford V6 , etc, other (a '64) is purist stock

Seminole State Park near Comstock, TX

Seminole State Park is a gem located on US 90, a virtually deserted 2 lane road posted at 75 mph. Every hill fortunately has a passing lane so the few truckers can blast by me.

The park is near Armsitd Reservoir and at the confluence of the Pecos River (picture) and the Rio Grande. Seminole was created to protect the petroglyphs painted on the walls of large and deep overhangs in the cliffs of Seminole Canyon. (picture)

It consists of about 30 sites, half primitive and half wiith water and electricity. The park does provide wireless but for the life of me I never could get AOL to connect. The sites are located well off the highway and at the highest point in the park providing marvelous TX sunsets (picture) and leaving one exposed to strong winds, one night gusts hit 60 mph. The closest real town is Del Rio to the east, about 45 miles away with every store you can imagine.

The night sky, though not at the level of Chaco Canyon is a wonder for a person from the east. I bet I went out at least twice a night, like at 2AM, just to check on the stars.

The restrooms and showers were absolutely spotless and the nights were dead quiet. We planned for 2 nights and stayed 4 but could have stayed a month.

Hey Dave; didn't know you were either! I do give it away a bit here and there. The Screen name CliveAlive, my registry TV pic and other misellaneous posts from time to time.

You have a nice collection between your son and you!

Don't worry about the purists. If you know anything about the Swedes you know they love American muscle. Did you see the Sebring Pics on our website and meet report on our blog? 17 Nordic race teams were there racing Camaro's!

Keep 'em Rolling!

I'll PM you. I have sorta given up on the Volvo 1800 BBS as it seems to be populated mostly with folks who get all bent outta shape if your tires don't have 1964 air in 'em! Just guess how they react to my Chev-powered one! . And how I react to THAT

1974 Venture

Our 1974 Venture trailer, going through a restoration; ceiling, floor, air vent, window cranks, rims & tires, battery & box, frame clean up / paint,& 3 way fridge. Hopefully adding a new bag awning this week

When going on a weekend trip, Its nice to pull into a gas station towing our trailer with a 4 cylinder car and watch the faces of those people filling up a 3/4 or 1 ton truck towing a large 5th wheel..... they cringe everytime $ 100.00 rolls by on the pump...lol
