I mounted a rail on the roof in order to be able to camp with a extra-tent on the wagon. I have a couple of different coulors on tents for the caravan, but normally we dont really use them so often. I also have a small collection of old single-standing tents...

Hi: staffan... Thanks for the links to the vintage trailer rally. I learned to drive on a 1959 Volkswagen, and my first car was a '59 Volvo 544. Loved all the vintage cars and campers/caravans/wagens.

These are from our trip this summer. The lights are on at Bay View SP, Mount Vernon, WA. The lake is South Fork near Elko, NV. The shine is courtesy of my DH and ZEP!

1998 Bigfoot B17CB & 2002 Tacoma Supercharged V6

Pretty much stay off the beaten path with my rig. But when called upon it’ll pull past most any rig on the steep grades, and the SuperCharger especially loves those high mountain passes.

Good day Dwayne...

Yes we use an 03 G35 as our TV. It has a 3.5 V6 with 260HP/260TQ. I really appreciate the over all performance and stability solo and when towing. It easily handles the 4,500lb trailer especially considering the total aerodynamics of the whole combo. You can see how well it accelerates here....
G35 Airstream Drive Video by CF105 | Photobucket

Note this is a pro set up by towing specialists Can AM. It has a custom made and installed class IV receiver/platform.

Our previous TV was a 150HP/180TQ Nissan Van. It too was a great TV but had notably less power with a 3.0v6 .

New Scamp 13 Deluxe, Jan 9th pick up in Backus

We picked up our 2014 front bath Scamp 13 Deluxe Oak yesterday. ($15k) Check it out in the attached photo. Its now washed and safe in our garage after a 400 mile trip home. I took lots of pictures on the factory tour and will post them this weekend. A certified scale showed 1460 pounds on the tires and 230 pounds on the tongue making the total 1690 pounds with one full propane bottle and a group 27 battery. Pretty much all the options except awning and AC. No cargo or water aboard. Salesman said the deluxe wood adds 3-4 hundred pounds. Our 4cyl Outback performed very well towing. Trailer brakes seemed weak, but its probably my very old Prodigy controller. Will investigate and see if I can remember how to adjust it.

Now to get started on a full page list of mods. Details to follow in the coming weeks.

Keep warm, John and Jill

PS. Scamp salesman said over 65% of sales are the 13 footers. They have about a dozen trailers in stock.

I drove from Austin, TX to Backus in Dec to pick up my 2014 19' Scamp. The trip and the camper...both excellent.

We picked up our scamp in Backus in March 2013 and have spent about 75 days in it from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and California about one month. Then on to the Canadian Rockies. We are looking forward to our adventures coming up. Here are some pics of our travels.Click image for larger version

All packed up in the driveway & ready to head out!

2004 Element; 5 speed manual transmission, all wheel drive. We get about 18 mpg when towing the Scamp.
