I guess the Forest Supervisors office agreed with me.
I received a call this morning informing me the roads had been opened.
I just got back from a 45 mile ride.
I had lunch at Browns Meadow which is at the 7450' elev..
The main road was bone dry but there were still 2 snow drifts on the secondary road I had to go through at about 8000'.
I had a fleeting glimpse of the south end of north bound Black bear and saw a doe with 2 fawns.
It's been a great day.
It pays to discuss the situation with the Big Boss.

Please, we consider it the Canadian Southwest And it's not all it's cracked up to be. The dandylions are up already so there's weeding to do and a little rain on the magnolia blossums and they fall off and make a mess Oh yeah, went for a drive in my little topless car and forgot my sunglasses, almost got blinded

NOAA weather forecast for tonight for upstate NY:
Low of 22 with snow flurries!

It's 2/3s of the way through April!
I'm convinced it is a conspiracy by the Minnesotan's to have Spring by exporting Winter east. If the weather changes in a couple days, I'm sure I can find some other explanation.

Today in Michigan, we had snow (ack!!) and mid-30s for the HIGH. It's nearly 'tomorrow' now and hopefully it will be a better day. I hear 50degrees. This is crazy! We've been getting a lot of rain, when it hasn't been cold and blustery.

We too are scheduled for more snow tomorrow. It is getting increasingly difficult to welcome snow and grey sky with a grin.

Our neighbors had a bear tear down their bird feeder a couple of years ago and left foot prints in the snow the length of our driveway and out through the backyard as he retreated to the woods. A few weeks later, we had a moose take a similar path. No major sighting since then. Maybe this global warming is driving them back to the cooler climate of Vermont!
