As I type this (6:33 pm pst, Sept 29th)..

Scamp 5th wheel tugged by a white US made ilk type of pick up, newer, you are crawling on Rustin Way South on the waterfront in beautiful Downtown Tacoma, Wa.

It's taken you about 5 mins to go a short block.

Doh! No camera!

We just returned from a long vacation starting in north Georgia and going to Washington and back. On the first day of our trip we spotted our first Casita going East on I-24 just before Chattanooga. We had barely gotten onto I-24 going west. Thils was on September 1.
On September 5th we spotted two Tabs or Tear-drop campers going East in Wyoming. One was yellow and silver and the other was red and white, neat little things.
The next Casita was seen about 16 miles East of Rawlins, Wyoming on September 5. It was going East and we were going West and we met at the 250 mile marker.
While at the Rock Springs, Wyoming KOA a nice long Bigfoot came in to set up. We were near the office so could see everybody coming in. This was on September 5.
We passed a Scamp 5th wheel going east about 40 miles from Mt. Home, Idaho on September 6.
And on September 7th, we sae a truck pulling either a pumpkin colored Scamp or a Burro. I'm not that sure of them at a distance. This was in Baker City, Oregon and it was headed East.
The third Casita we met saw us too and flashed their lights. This was at Prosser, Washington on September 18 on I-82 neaar the 80 mile marker. We were in the dark green Honda Odyssey and they were towing with a silver one. This was near the Yakima area.
Number four was an older Casita and passed up near the Powder River sign just south of LeGrande, Oregon on I-84. This was on September 19.
We saw Casita number 5 being towed by a grey-brown SUV near Burley, Idaho around the 204 mile marker. This was about 3:50pm on the 19th of September also and on I-84 south. They were going north.
The next Casita was near Farmington, New Mexico and was towed by a white custom van. They were going north on Highway 550 at about 10:20am on September 22.
The seventh Casita we spotted was on September 22 about noon on Highway 550 between Cuba and Regina, New Mexico. It was being towed by a black SUV.

Wish we could have had the time to stop and chat with all of you but it was good to know there were that many on the roads we traveled.

At first, I thought that was me, but I wasn't on 550. About that time, I was actually on I-40 near Albuquerque. I was on my way home from Arizona and heading east on I-40. If you ever see me, you can't miss me: I have a 16 footer with no decals.

I saw several Casitas on that trip. Most on I-40, a couple on Texas highway 287 (Sep 23). To the 17' pulled by a minivan (Odessy?) with Arkansas plates that came along beside me ... Back at ya!

Hello all-

I saw a Casita traveling up Highway 101 between Eureka and Arcata going North today around 11:30 am. Does anyone claim to be that traveler?

Also saw another Burro in Eureka today, again on 101 parked in a parking lot around 2:30pm.

Then......I saw a Scamp pull into the Blue Lake gas station off Highway 299 around 4:15pm today.

Also saw a Scamp, Burro, Lil Bigfoot, Compact Jr. and an Amerigo today...........Oh wait a minute, those ones are parked around and behind my house. I guess I see them everyday. But the first three I did see out on the road today. Anybody from this forum traveling around the Eureka - Arcata area today? Don't usually see that many around here in one day, felt kind of special to have the honor of seeing so many out traveling in my neck of the beautiful Redwoods.

Found in a hollow in Hawley, MA. Inquired locally and learned some people, unknown, appear from time to time and stay in this. Note air-conditioner. Not needed in Hawley which boasts a frost recorded in every month of the year.

Oh, and this was next to the Burro. Is this fiberglass? Gets a visitor from Boston once and a while, I understand. Hawley, MA has less than 500 people and is mostly state forest. It lies on the edge, and some would say within, the Berkshire Mountains.

It sure looks like fiberglass to me. I wish we could read what the emblem above the rock guard says.

Fred:

It says "Aalite." Or, the first A is a cursive capital letter that could make it "Calite," which makes no sense to me. I will try to post an enlarged image. But I am not too eperienced with my photo editor yet. Having trouble saving edits and then reducing for posting. here goes:

Ahhhh. We've seen that emblem before. Trailer looks totally different though. Remember the Aalite that was on ebay and purported to be made by Avion? Denise wanted it, but Leon purchased it and is rehabbing it. ebay Aalite

We saw a 16 foot Scamp in the Elkader, Iowa camp ground Friday night. We approached the owners but they didn't seem to have the "force" (fiberglass fascination). Looked at us like we were nuts. I guess we are, nuts over our "Li'l Jenny."

Spotted on I-93 South just North of the Hooksett tolls at about 6 PM today, a 13' Scamp with a roll-up awning. Tug was a full-sized Ford van, I think.

Saw a Casita in Ann Arbor today pulled by a blue Dodge pick-up. You were going North on Wagner, turning West onto Jackson. Funny, the Casita looked like it was slightly bigger than a 13 and slightly smaller than a 16. Is there anything in between?

Don't see many eggs in these parts. Are you a FBRV member?
