17' Casita Southeastern, PA

Thurs August 15th 2019
Route 202 near East Whiteland, PA

Sighted this Casita pulled by a Honda Pilot, traveling south around 5PM.

Wife and I were excited as we are picking up our new Casita Spirit Deluxe in Rice, TX in a few months.

Saw a Escape 17 heading northeast at Smoky Lake, Alberta yesterday. We were heading back home with the Casita.

I was able to briefly chat with an Oliver owner today in North Chicago. He said it was between an Airstream and the Oliver, and he thinks they chose right!

Saw a Scamp riding on a long flatbed trailer, with another trailer in front of it, today on 495, South of Washington DC at 4pm. Scamp looked good, so maybe it was a delivery.

Sighting of The Great Pumpkin

I first spotted this Scamp in backyard of a home near me but behind a tall fence. Happy to see it at Pumpkin Patch Maybe I’ll get to meet this neighbor one day?

Looks lived in, with chairs, plants, and power cord. Winter home next to summer home? Break room for yard workers? Yard watchman?

The guy who runs the yard told me it's a couple who have dogs and they use the camper while working on their boat because of the difficulties of getting dogs up/down from the boat.

Watched a Scamp being hauled south on I-65 toward Mobile Alabama on Christmas Morn'. Made me wish I was hauling my Oliver somewhere.
Cheers to all

After a year of travel where I saw only one Bigfoot the entire time, I spent a bit under a
week traveling on I-80/I-70 CA to Denver and saw a couple Bigfoot trailers, a truck camper or two, and a class C.

Spotted and Acorn today on I90 west of Bozeman heading east. I was driving so no photo. Bonus points, an Argosy at our KOA. White over Navy, looks nicely restored.

Wow I almost forgot this thread existed!

Argosy is more like an Airstream, right? Metal construction? We had one out back of the headquarters for a job I worked a few years back. Inside was in rough shape...but people did live in it in the summer. I don't think I have photos anymore.

Argosy is an Airstream and yes, aluminum construction tho I think they put molded fiberglass endcaps on them for awhile in the early '80's. Targeted at a mid level market price-wise, they were painted to hide flaws in the lower grade aluminum used to save costs. Paint also hid the rivets too of course, resulting in a trailer look and shape much like that of a molded fiberglass trailer so they're often mistaken for one.

On our trip home to St Paul from the Badlands, we spotted a Scamp 13 being towed by a Tacoma just pulling into the Conoco gas station at the road into the park.

And another Scamp 13 being towed by a 4Runner at the MN rest area just east of Sioux Falls. Owners were from Montana, heading east. Husband stopped to chat a bit as we were getting ready to pull out. Wish the Covid thing was done, would love to spend time getting to know folks we meet on the road.
