Five Scamps/ one weekend

I have put on hundreds of miles with out seeing ONE other fiberglass RV. But not this weekend. First of course was my own 16’, Then a 19’ under a Ford ranger ready for the road in southwestern Chippewa County Wisconsin. Then a 13’ Scamp east bound on highway 29 near Cadott Wisconsin as I was pulling a 16’ stick built for a new RVer that did not want to learn in heavy traffic. Now on the weekend there are two, a 13’ Scamp and a 16’ Scamp on my boondocking lot playing ham radio for the weekend.

Saw a Nest!

Was heading west in Edmonton AB the other day and there was a white and grey Nest heading east! Didn't think I would ever see one in the wild let alone in way up here in Edmonton.

Saw my 2nd Nest Saturday. Was in the first prototype built by Robert in Bend Or. then Saturday seen one headed eastbound towed by a white late model F150(I think) between Trail and Salmo Bc.
Never thought I'd see one in Canada, must of retailed over 60 G up here!

It is worth more that’s is a collectors item as Airstream is no longer making them.

Well it is a bit of a one off for Airstream for sure but currently many of the used smaller Airstreams 22’ and under are currently selling for more than what they were new 5 years ago. Strange but true.

Uhaul?

Spotted this in Dandridge TN. The other day. Stopped and bought it and drug it home for a winter project. No paperwork or history. Was there when he bought the place many years ago. Can’t find any markings or numbers. Sort of looks like a CT13 but not the taillights.

Looks like a Companion. A quick search here found a post that said they were made in 1985, possibly using modified Uhaul CT molds.

You're right. I had never heard that name in campers before. I wondered why the bumper and the lights were so different, yet the body seems the same. Lots of research to do now!

Thanks

Whoever built the Companions was smart to use common parts, like the windows and tail lights, unlike the Uhauls where everything was unique to them and parts no longer available.

A Hymer from Quebec parked behind us at Walmart Dryden ON Aug27-28. Just spoke a few minutes to the owner and did not get a look inside, first I'd ever seen. Also on 27th at 2pm passed an Escape 19 on TC#1 by Richer MB first Escape we've seen on the road this year.

Scamp and Escape 5th wheels

Pulled our 19 foot Scamp into our reserved spot at an RV park last Thursday in Ashland, Oregon, and found our park neighbors were traveling with an Escape 5.0.

Missed opportunity. Neighbors were actually busy working in the back of their TV, so it wasn't the best photo op!
