Saw a west bound Lil Snoozy on I-86 just east of Jamestown NY, between exit 14 and 13, last week. Don't remember what was pulling it.

Sightings

Camped this Labor Day weekend on the prairie north of Forsyth Montana near a PlayPak (sp?). Larry, from Kansas, had replaced the door & 2 windows before this year’s shooting match. He’s fabricated some removable awnings that have potential. Before The Quigley Match next June he hopes to paint it. Sure made our 17’ Casita look spacious. We enjoy seeing his progress each BPCR event.

Another Casita

We make a 6 hour trip with our Casita to see our Grandkids & we always gas up at the same location on our trip. A couple in a Casita coming from Florida to Ohio pulled into the same Gas Station at the same time we did. They had just bought a 2000 model & this was their first trip.

Saw a casita and a scamp on 101 in Washington yesterday. One headed East and the other west. I have been bebopping around the Olympic Peninsula the last month waiting to have a medical procedure done in Tacoma, and have been very surprised at how few fiberglass campers I’ve seen. Only one Escape that I can remember, a couple of scamps and a handful of casitas. Many new stickies, some well loved older campers, and surprised by how many truck campers I’ve seen. Mostly Lance, haven’t seen a single fiberglass truck camper. That’s my dream- a 3500 dually and either a northern lite or Bigfoot camper…

Fiberglass sightings

In the fall of 2020 I found SEVERAL (6?) fiberglass RVs on my trip west, This year ONE! There were 5 Scamps in my home neighborhood the 2nd weekend of September. The one, I think was a Scamp 13 just south of Devil's tower WY.
Here is my camp sight at Devil's tower KOA. The local KOA was very nice even though some things were closed this late in the year. I found later that I could have camped in the Devil's tower camp ground for less money with my senior pass.

Highway 160 today between Durango and Pagosa Springs, we followed a Casita from Bayfield into Pagosa Springs. Had a nice wave from the driver.

You just reminded me of C.W.McCall, Wolf Creek Pass, a load of chickens, and the feed store in "down town" Pagosa Springs; TNX

We've Been Sighted—and Cited!

Yesterday stopped on the way home from the DAR State Forest in Central MA, at a Dunkin' Donuts on Rt 32, heading toward the Palmer intersection with the Mass Pike. A gentleman came up and asked if he could photograph our rig. He said a friend of his was constantly saying he wanted a Casita, and also he wanted a Wenonah canoe. And here we were with both!

He took a photo and said he was sending it to his friend with the message, "Some people say; others do!" (paraphrase). I told him to tell his friend about the FiberglassRV Forum. He wrote it down, so maybe we'll see the friend here.

Photo below of our rig as we were leaving the DAR campground on a lovely October Tuesday. —LEJ

PS My wife seems to think 'cited' means we got a ticket, but it also means 'referenced'.

Sightings

This afternoon at Cabelas in Billings, Montana: 17’ Casita in the RV overnight slots, Louisiana plates. Some interesting add-ons….maybe a generator in front, propane moved to rear, and a loaded cargo rack on rear. The rack seems to have extended side bars welded to the trailer frame underneath. Couldn’t see a rear bumper. Some kind of wind deflector riveted on top front and a flat long rack added to the top drivers side almost full length of trailer. Hope the pics show all his hard work.

Some web programmer decided to feature a picture of a Scamp 19 in the Recreation.gov page for Crane Flat in Yosemite.

Saw three Casitas on Mayport Naval Base while we stayed there a couple weeks ago. Navy Recreation appears to be renting them out. But they were gone by the time the weekend rolled around.

I no longer have a Fiberglass camper either, but other family members do and I love to keep up with all the lovely campers and people here. I've been a member for so many years I would be lost without checking from time to time. I also no longer camp alone now I enjoy camping with my daughters and theirs and their families in their campers

There was an Oliver21 a couple rows over from our Casita at the Galveston Island KOA this weekend but before I got out of the pool he had checked out. We’ll be here a month so get your rigs down here! Beautiful place! Not missing Montana a bit.
