Simple Night Security for your Scamp

I wanted to have some type of night time security for my Scamp. So I bought a Logitech Web cam Pro 9000 and a 150 degree motion sensing security light. You will also need some software to take a picture when motion is detected.
When the light see's motion it will turn on and the web cam will take a picture every second when it see's motion.

This is what you need
Logitech web cam pro9000 --$50.00 used
Motion sensing security light -- $15.00 New
Software to take a picture --FREE

Web cam Amazon.com: Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 / QuickCam Pro 9000: Electronics
Motion Light Walmart.com: Heath Zenith 150 Degree Motion Sensing Security Light, White: Hunting
Software-FREE Yawcam - Yet Another Webcam Software

portforwarding and dynamic IP and using UPNP, That might leave the average computer user out of the running.

I adapted an automotive back-up camera as a security camera. Some have IR capability.

I had a boss who could sit in his home in Colorado Springs and watch everything that went on in the office in Sidney, Montana. I wonder what it would take to be able to watch my house in Iowa from Wisconsin?

So it doesn't work during the day?

Are you securing it to the Scamp? Because my thinking is, the thief can rip it off throw in on the ground and proceed to do whatever stupid thing they intended to do before the motion detector detected him/her/they.

And if they know before hand couldn't they just spray paint over the camera before they start stealing it, destroying it, etc?

They'd have to get past the laser beams and thermal sensing curtain first!

I work for Logitech. In fact, I worked on this very product. We also make a very inexpensive security system called Alert. These are a bit more then what was listed above but have some excellent software and image quality. I have 5 around my house and have used them to capture all kinds of interesting things.....great piece of mind and they use your electrical wiring to connect to one another so there aren't chords running all over the place....

I rarely discuss my place of work on such forums but I am a big fan of our security products. Of course, all comments are my own and not those of Logitech.

The camera is in my house, pointed at my scamp. It also works in the daylight when there is motion, the camera will take a picture. Works perfect as a security system and low cost.

Neat stuff! Loved the "busted" videos.
Logitech
Any chance you can get a deal for your friends or arrange a group buy?
