The sneakers are a nice touch, but shouldn't those be wooden shoes?

What is this tradition all about? I know nothing of Dutch culture.

Dear Sinterklaas, Please bring me a pony, and a bird feeder, and a BAL leveler, and a new spare tire cover that says "Trillium" for Christmas. Your friend, Debby
P.S. I've been very good this year. I hardly snapped at anyone at all!

I remember when I was a small boy, in the late 1940's, we hung our stocking on the mantel December 5th. We celebrated St Nicholas Day. The next morning they were filled with goodies. We didn't hang our stockings Christmas Eve.

Funny, the tradition died off when my Grandmother passed away. Thanks for bringing back a long forgotten memory.

I do remember that Santa does not like regular coffee. He prefers Sanka Claus.

I can't wait for the feast on Dec 6th. I am getting a little worried that Pete stole me chocolate letters. but I will still put carrots in me shoes.
