Sleeping Positions

We are two average size folks... 5'8" and 5'7" in the <180# and <150# range. Considering a 13' Scamp w/bath to pull using our Subaru Outback.

Questions:
• What are your preferences for sleeping positions in a 13' Scamp?

• shoulder to shoulder? head to toe?

• 54" vs 44" bed?

• Bed extension? Can two people sleep comfortably shoulder to shoulder with feet pointed towards the bath if there is an extension for your feet?

• What else do we need to ask?

Thanks!

i'm 6'0 and my wife is 5'2 and we're both north of 200 lbs, and we're quite comfortable on the 80x54" bed in our escape21, with our heads towards the front of the trailer. we flat couldn't get comfortable on the bed in the casita 16, as one would have to climb over the other, not easy in the middle of the night... doing the neccessary, being 60+, a couple times a night.

"doing the necessary, being 60+, a couple times a night. "

Wow, in your mid 60's you can still do the necessary a couple times per night? I bow to you sir.

Sleeping Positions

Oh, my!

We are four, and after some initial adjustment our arrangement is this: my wife shares the 45” dinette bed with our youngest, sleeping head-to-toe, I take the lower bunk, and our oldest, who is tall but thin, takes the upper bunk. We each have our own separate tapered bag.

A few times my wife and I have had the trailer to ourselves, kids in a tent. We shared the dinette bed for a while to “do the necessary” (I assume that means reading or watching TV...) [emoji6] But when I’m ready to roll over and snore, I roll all the way to the front bunk. She likes her space and I like the freedom to use the restroom during the night and rise before the sun without disturbing her.

my 'neccessary' is using the restroom.... I hate TV, and well, at 65 the other thing is pretty darn occasional :-/

Yeah, I used TV and reading as representative of quiet activities we do to relax in bed before lights out. We don’t have a TV in our trailer. Often we watch something we’ve downloaded on a tablet and my wife does cross-stitching.

Head to toe makes a narrow bed feel much wider! Realize even at 54 inches, the bed is only the width of a standard residential bed (double). And thats the "big" bed. At 44 inches wide, the regular Scamp bed is slightly wider than a twin bed.

RV manufacturers tend to be fast and loose on bed sizes.

Jon's adjustment to fit four in his Scamp 13 is a really good plan.

I tried the center aisle conversion. It didn't work for me as I'm a side sleeper. I found the leg room too confining. If on the other hand you and your partner are back sleepers, you'll think you're in a king size bed. It does eliminate the climb over for nature calls. And as far as other activities..... this is a family site.
