In a few minutes, the new program on the Discovery Channel that "Blows up things" (I don't know if 1000s are killed, no) will be destroying a full sized Airstream.

Show starts at 7 Pacific time, I believe

Smash Lab kills a Stickie.

They almost killed more than a Airstream and truck when the rocket malfunctioned. I'm surprised after that mishap that show wasn't pulled off the air.

I really don't get the point of the show.

I watched it last night. They remote drove a Suburban truck and Airstream trailer down a hill with no brakes, just downshifting to slow it like when your brakes fail. It ended up the combo flying off a hill and crashing. If they would have used one of our lightweight trailers it might have slowed down in time. Putting retro-rockets on another Airstream was not a good idea either with a lighting of the rockets when they were trying to arm them. I've had a brake failure before on a steep downhill in the Sierras with a Toyota motorhome with manual transmission and was able to bring down from a runaway with shifts into 2nd and 1st gears. It will definatley get your atention when the pedal goes to the floor!

I think it's sort of real life Rube Goldberg.

When I started watching I knew right away what they were doing was.. stupid.

Even if it DID work, can you imagine rockets going off near propane lines? They obviously didn't do a lot of studying about the whole subject.

I think the point of the show is to...

blow things up.

What?! Stupid, violent, pointless shows on television?! When did that begin? Guess I just don't watch enough TV any more...

What's this "television" thing? Ahh!, I remember that's that vast waste land that's going away in Feb of 2009.

I've seen the previews but haven't had to urge to watch an episode.

It struck me as an attempt to pull all the "blowing stuff up" parts out of Mythbusters. Looks like it's all "Whew! It Blew up! It blew up REAL good! Whew!" Without the safety, skill, and actual science content of Mythbusters. I thought it looked pretty lame too.
