Smilies

Sometimes when I come on this site, right now for one, all I see is smilies covering all the words. Anyone know what causes that?

Depends, are you see them on an Iphone, Ipad, home computer, type of web browser you are using!! also which version FGRV you are on, a lot of variables that need to be sifted thru to get to your answer.

Jim's answer I can read, Ron's is covered with smilies. I'm using an IPad, not using the app, just a bookmark to the site. The recent thread list on the right is all covered with smilies too. It's done this before, but later will be gone.??????

Methinks Ron is messing with you, as we all see the same.

Does a reboot help?

6 hours later and the smilies are gone! This happens occasionally, I have no idea why. It has never happened on other trailer sites that have smilies. I thought it may be a problem on this site, but apparently I'm the only one it happens to!?

It could be caused by another app that you have installed on your Ipad and only occurs when the other app is active. Try to see if particular app is active when this happens. Double-click the button at the bottom of you Ipad. All the active apps will appear at the bottom. You can swipe left right to see them all. Press and hold any one of the apps till a minus sign appears on each icon. Then you can close each one by tapping its minus sign.

I think Ron is on to something. I'm using an IPad with the default skin and not seeing what you describe. Raz

I have had something similar happen when I use my Ipad as well. Usually the entire screen gets filled with many little pictures (all the same). What I have found is that if you hit the refresh button at top of screen (kind of a semi-circular icon with an arrow on it just to the RIGHT of the web address), all of the pictures will disappear.

EDITED for my left handedness.

How hard should I hit it? Is a 4lb hammer too big?

My similar circular icon is on the right of the web address. I'll try that next time the smilies appear, they're gone for now. It's not a regular occurrence but has happened several times.

I'm refreshing this old thread because we had a similar problem again with our iPad only instead of smilies all over the screen it was pictures of some trailer. The solution to the problem is what Ice Breaker Dave said to do, hit the circular refresh button, and we're back to normal. Thanks Dave!
