YUP never ever have I seen it like this in all the years living here. Lots of people walking around town with face masks on. My house smells like a campfire.
I suspect the smoke you are seeing in Washington may actually be coming at you from us. We have lots of fires burning right now but there are 3 of them growing like crazy in the lower mainland area and the smoke is pretty well covering all of Metro Vancouver and the Southern half of Vancouver Island and as you can see from the NASA photo taken yesterday the smoke is over some of Washington as well.
The second photo is of a fire just north of Whistler that grow last night by 24 times it size and is now 30,000 hectors in size. There are actually two large fires just North of Whistler and the other is equally out of control burning a big number of hectors as well.
Weather forecast is for more of the same - hot and dry.....
