Snowbirding

Anybody snowbird in a trailer as small as our Egg Camper? Biggest issue for us (I think) is comfortable seating inside during those long hours of winter darkness. Dinettes are very uncomfortable for longer than a meal. When you're an old bag like my wife and an old fart like me, comfort is very important. Thoughts? Thanks.

Don't eggcampers come with that real thin foam cushions pictured on their webpage? It sure looks uncomfortable to me. If so, You might be able find a place to make thicker cushions.

Good comfortable outside chairs are probably more important since you'll be spending much more time outside than inside. Inside is for sleeping and sometimes cooking. Outside the rest of the time.

Less winter darkness further south. Plus it's cold that sends you inside not dark.

Our experience since 1995 snowbirding is that there is neglibile difference in the amount of darkness far enough south for warm weather. As for the thin cushions in Egg Camper...they are an option that we chose not to buy. Dinette seats in anything are NOT comfortable for several hours. Based on our experience with dinette seats in multiple RVs over the past 45+ years.

I am considering the Casita Freedom Deluxe because of the captains chairs. Because I am single, I have a little more freedom in that department. I can get some sort of ottoman to make the captains chairs more enjoyable or remove them and get a more comfortable chair, RV recliner or something like that.

My partner Robert is handicapped by Peripheral Neuropathy; nerve damage in his legs and feet. He is most comfortable in bed, so since we have a Fiber Stream with a King size bed, we decided to do the Hugh Heffner thing and do everything in bed. (I'm talking about TV watching, reading, and eating!) Extra pillows are a must, as are a pair of Folding Bed Trays.
