and my neighbor kindly consented to watch my pups while I go to the Campground just 1 and 1/2 miles from my house. (They only allow slipper dogs) It's Easter, not a legal holiday, and these 3 days are usually like every other weekend.. not a holiday crowd. Good time for me to get out for awhile without the usual holiday types.

I run over there real quick to see what he has open (OK, it's a spur of the moment thing) .. he says, he doesn't have anyone booked for two weeks! Yay!

The waterfall is in full force and I can get the spot right next to it.!!!! Thats a tuff one to get, I have only had it once, but it's a beautiful spot, lots of sun and the sound of the falls is nice all nite. (By early summer, it dries up as they close the gates at the top.. it's the creek the lake we have here was made from)

I tell him I'll go get the trailer and come back for 3 days.

"Oh.. you mean THIS weekend?"
uhm, yep.
"It's always so slow this time of year, I just today decided I am going to close and go of out of town myself this weekend."

Does this mean you can have the campground ALL to yourself?

No, he can't let anyone stay if he is gone. Liability.

Yeah! I like Alf's idea! It's worth asking about!! (and as the workerbee, you should be able to have your "family," especially if no one else is there....

well, unfortunately, this guy got sued due to someone else's badly behaved K-9s. I am sure he is gun shy of just about everything, and I can't blame him. Lawyers scare me more than just about anything else

Nope, Doctors are worse. They both want all your money, but the lawyer will usually leave you alive...

I will go next weekend, I guess. It's not like it will take a long time to get there.

I gotta question...
Where does a guy who runs a campground go for a vacation? He can't go camping, that's his job.

Actually--the manager of the campground here takes his camper south for the winter.

It's quite possible he gets a two-week temp job in an office, sitting in a cubicle with phones, computer and filing cabinet.

Campground we've been at in AZ has been full since last Saturday and turning loads of folks away.....
Guess Easter week is pretty popular. Our entertainment at noon is watching all the rigs circling the campgrounds looking for someone to check out.

That could be a vacation!

A young mom I knew was at home with two very active toddler girls after a number of years as an Admin Assistant. I asked her if she missed the 9-to-5 and she said, "Oh yes!"

"What is it you miss about work?"

"Coffee breaks!" she said with a sigh....
