So ...where does the licence plate go??

Silly question I know. But...
We have a new 13' scamp and a shiny new retro plate but I don't see an obvious place to put it. In the window? On the tabs under the rear light?

What do you do?

Thanks!

There should be a license plate holder mounted under the left side tail light.

That's it. Two bolts.
I used two short SS bolts with nuts. I put bolt heads towards the trailer so the vibration of plate wouldn't cause the bolt ends to rub against the fiberglass. If the bolts were short enough you could do it the other way around. I used what I had in my junk box.

As Donna D. says. You're excited, I know I sure was when my new Scamp arrived. It's still exciting to hookup and leave, even after 7.5 years.

Congrats on the Scamp. Remember: the only silly question is the one you don't ask. Happy Scamping.

The tabs look like they are plastic. If so I would check regularly to see if they are weakening or cracking. I've had two of the plastic brackets break over the years. Admittedly they had been around a while but it would be a shame to lose that retro plate.

After the second failure I put a metal plate behind the bracket and mounted the license plate to it. That made a much solider attachment.

BTW - This was on a pop-up camper I used to own, not my EggCamper. The EggCamper came with a metal bracket for the license plate. That should be fine until the metal moths get to it.

We had a nice Oregon Trail plate with another year and a half registration paid on it that was installed on plastic hangers like those on your Scamp. It was broken off in Prineville and we had to get a new plate. DMV told me it is not uncommon. Don't make it too easy for the crooks of the world-especially if it is a cool plate.

I have the round lights on my Scamp and the license plate hangs from a metal bracket. Here's one, cheap... you could probably pick up one at any RV parts place: License Plate Bracket - RVWholesalers.com RV Parts and Accessories

Thanks team! Them being plastic and looking easy to break off was what was having me question if they were the plate attachment in the first place. I'll look into that metal bracket!

We also got a new Scamp and couldn't believe what a tight fit it was to get the bolts on. I put the bolt heads towards the Scamp and then put some duct tape over them so they wouldn't scratch it. Not that you would ever see it but did it anyway!
