Social Security Only - Nomadic Retirement

Are there any persons here who are exclusively on Social Security, while living the nomadic life of a full time RV?

It would seem that in theory its possible, if you owned the little fiberglass RV before you retired, and own the towing vehicle. Between boondocking and visiting friends you could do it. Just dont move around too much.

My thoughts on this are folks I absolutely praise, who can pull this off with style and finess and comfort.

Are you a SSONR (coined the term sonar retired folks)?

"Social Security Only" is a very wide $$$ range. At the low end, no way, at the maximum, could be a lot of fun. I know several individuals that are doing just that in Toyota mini-motorhomes and are doing well until the "Big One" hits.

The "Big One" is that unexpected expense that ranges from needing new tires, to having a water pump on the TV blow, to being at the mercy of a roadside repair shop for a minor repair that turns into a $600 bill.

Although it may be to late for some, it would be good idea to make a trial run of a month or so to test the waters before giving up everything at home.

my question would be what do you as address for your licences and registration? If you have living family I'm guessing that you could use theirs but if not then what? Assuming you gave up all land property that is..

Great retirement will be a dream come true by our oldies. But a recent survey said that the United States ranks low in terms of retirement security and even lower in healthcare.

Hmmmm This is an almost year old thread that, fortunately died before it became a political discussion. Hopefully it will stay that way.

People don't plan to fail, but they do fail to plan.....

BTW: What's "Our Oldies"
