Just wanted to share some pictures of our trip to Route 66, down a good portion of the mother road, and home again. 16 days, 13 states, and 5000 miles. What a great vacation. I am glad I finally got my kicks on Route 66.
Tyler & Family
The boys last day of school and ready to hit the road.
The first motel in Texas and the last motel in Texas.
If you look far off in the distance you can spot the Cadillac Ranch
Ran into big trouble in Utah. Luckily I was near enough a town I was able to find someone to help. If you ever find yourself in trouble in Utah don't hesitate to look up JM Custom Welding, great guy, honest, and did an amazing job getting us back on the road and didn't over charge even though he could have.
Patched up and ready to get back on the road.
Worlds biggest chicken..we think.
Not a little camper but our new work trailer. Just learning how to tow this monster, way different then the Cloud.
It was amazing. I would recommend it to anyone however I would suggest at least 3 weeks to do it at a lazy pace. We only saw about 75% and we had to keep moving at a pretty good clip to do that.
Great pictures. I've stood in front of many of those spots. Its a great trip and great memories for your boys. Now start planning the next great trip. I'm glad that broken tongue didn't ruin your trip.
We did stand on the corner in Winslow but those pictures haven't made it onto the computer yet.
The tongue issue was a huge bummer but I am glad it broke where it did as I feel we for pretty lucky finding such and honest guy to fix it for us.
The trip was the best and we have already decided that next years big trip will be ocean themed so we will be heading to one of the coasts just not sure which one yet.
