The general rule that they won't ticket you if you are less than 5 Miles over the limit does not apply in Wisconsin .If your one mile over the speed limit and have out of state plates you will get a ticket .
I saw 17 cars that were pulled over in one 100 mile stretch on Wisc 94. NOT one of the ticketed vehicles had Wisconsin plates . Going at the same speed as the people with Wisconsin plates has no bearing with local law enforcement. I drive 3 MPH under the posted limit when driving out of state

LOL. My Oliver is the first RV I've owned where I feel comfortable cruising AT the speed limit.

There's a great ap called Waze that will route your trips and the network of users can post speed traps and high traffic areas. Based upon that data it will notify you of what's ahead.

We have one community in our area the has Zero tolerance days; 5 over and you will get a ticket. Always do the limit or just under when going though that community. Even with no points if you collect more than one insurance will go up. :-( so we are carful want to keep our preferred rate :-D

hi---steve and borden----can you be more specific as the what towns/cities you are referring to? i think that is what is being asked. we can ALL benefit from knowing these areas.
i do remember reading about a stretch of highway in louisiana that supposedly the local law enforcement "make their own rules and you can't leave until you pay"......i am certain it's not an isolated incident. just wish i could remember where that was!!

Many of the small towns that are speed and ticket traps of one kind of another (Satsuma, AL. for example) don't have quotas for the police they have performance numbers instead. That won't help you any however. Neither will being on the correct side of the questions of the law.
Small towns use the traffic cash flow to finance having more police than they need and keep taxes low. This is called effective policing and is to be admired and copied by other small towns everywhere.
Some of this is showing up on the national news if you happen to be of the correct part of the population.
