Spring has finally hit my little MT. community. It has actually been nice and warm for about the last 10 days.
Having a terminal case of spring fever I started my annual spring yard clean up.
I planted 3 new rose bushes, pruned a lilac bush, 3 oleander bushes and some god awful desert bush that I have no idea what it is and removed one tree whose roots have been getting in the main drain to my septic tank.
You haven't lived until you have planted 3 rose bushes in dry clay soil.
I post this as a friendly warning to those of you that are still snowed in. Don't overdue on your first day. My truck and ATV trailer are full and ready for a dump run. My yard is in pretty good shape now but it's going to take me a day or 2 to recuperate. I have the worst backache imagineable, a couple of blisters and a sunburn but I am not complaining. It was great.
Your first day of spring is not very far away. Hang in there.

Hoping you all warm up soon,
John

John,

You sound much more qualified to do spring clean up than I.

Please be here next weekend. I won't have any rose bushes.. just some pine needles, a winters worth of dog exhaust, a driveway to level, a new deck...

the list goes on and on.

Snow is always a good excuse...

John, I can hardly wait for my first sunburn of the year. It snowed here again yesterday a little, and a lot on the ground yet. My dog exaust is a long way off from being raked.
I can hardly wait!!!

Back aches and wonder what clothes to put on.
Last week we had minus 20 F then by Thursday it hit almost 60 F and Friday we got 10 inches of snow and they say rain for Saturday.
Dont like the weather in Maine just wait a minute!
I imagine Lady-bug (13 ft Boler) just about had her wings about to spread and get out of the back to start the spring clean up but it looks like it will be a month or so now.

For every season there are plus' and minus'. As much as I dislike all the cold winter rain and wind...it DOES mean NO YARDWORK. Except maybe going out and picking up tree branches that have been blown out of the trees.

Spring means new growth, flowers pushing up, killing the moss in the yard and taking the lawnmower in for service. AND camping season is on its way!

Summer means using that dang lawnmower, clippers and putting out the yard debris can every week. But camping season is in full swing

Fall means racking the blasted leaves for weeks, buying RV anti-freeze and Dry-Z-Air stuff and THINKING about putting the Scamp to bed for the year...but wait...maybe we can squeeze at least one more camping trip in....

Okay, gotta get that list out again and add another bag of moss killer to it...but then too, going on that first camping trip in a bit more than a month

Last week we started with 24" of snow on the ground, it got to 60 f and all melted. Yesterday was 2" of very wet snow, today started at 5 f will get to 38 F and Monday hopefully 55F. I am so confused.
