Picture from the peak of our roof. Looks about the same from our living room window.

Lovely photo.
My brother who lives outside of Brainerd calls frequently to let me know about the first snow falls, ice forming on the lakes, and now the coming of spring and the ice turning.... From him, I hear that yesterday was lovely, but today cold rain is turning to sleety snow... As a Florida/Minnesota transplant, I miss it... ok, maybe not the bitter cold and shoveling snow....
But I do miss that incredible stillness and absolute tranquility that only a snow covered northern woods provides in the quiet days of winter.... and the promise of spring as the snow cover thins and the ice begins to break on the lake ..... Thanks for sharing. Sherry

Seems like we're getting way too much value from our snow shovels this winter/spring!
Loved your pictures. (I went to Lake Itasca as a little girl.)

Great picts...we could use some of the water here in western Maine. Even after the 13ft of snow this winter we are already in High Fire Danger.
With no spring rains the snow just evaporated into thin air and the dry tinder left on the ground from winter tree damage is dry as a bone.
Be carefull burning.

Gerry wish I could send some of our rain. Now, with the snow melt up north, the Mississippi Valley is under another flood watch. 'course it happens every spring.

Sorry Bonnie, there's more coming.
These pictures were taken at 2 PM on Saturday. It's still snowing.
All this snow is going to melt into the Mississippi there in the background.
Don't know how long it will take to get to you.
