Stabilising hitchhead

John Sanders, the designer of probably Europe's best stabilising hitchhead, will be visiting the west of Canada for several weeks.
He will be holidaying in a motorvan. He will arrive in Calcary on the 6th of july. He plans to visit the Trillium people to show his hitchhead (and to anyone who is interested).

Stabilizing?

Interesting. Obviously it has more function than simply a hitch. How does it work and what does it do?

I'm just guessing...

It looks like it uses friction on the ball with pressure applied by the pads; an anti-sway hitch.

Tell us Lex, please, please. :r

Morgan, you 're right.
But it deads movement not only in the horizontal plane, but also in the vertical. It is not weight distributing. The pads are bronze.
The bulk of new trailers here have a device like that mounted, mostly the Alko one..
There is a very simple website http://www.stabifix.nl

Ich sprechen zie duetsch nich ser gut.

I don't speak German (sorry about the above sentence spelling-it's be a long time since College) so I sent them an E Mail requesting info in English.

Looks way interesting.

Just feeling stupid should be punishment enough, Keith. a rubber hose seems a little bit over board to me.
