OK, I must be daft. I have absolutely no idea what this poll is about. What stickers, what map and why?
Inquiring and confused minds want to know.

You can find these maps at Camping World and other rv travel centers. http://www.campingworld.com/search/index.c...ty=1&Ntpc=1
Many people like to keep a record of all of the states that they have visited in their travels.

We've considered it, but the poll never asked that question.
You mean you actually have to camp in the state/province to apply a sticker? I've always considered travelling across the entire state to be worthy of a sticker. I'm not talking about just cutting across a corner, but going through from one end to the other. Your opinions would be appreciated on this one.

Well, now Roy has opened up the other "can of worms."
Do you have to camp in the state to put a sticker on or just blow thru it. If you don't have to camp to put a sticker on, the East Coasters have a great advantage over us West Coasters. They could probably put eight or nine stickers on in a day....
Someone needs to get Jim a sticker map, I thought Reace and Tammy included those with the Escapes!
Wally has a pretty good sticker map as well.

For sure Greg, I will petition them. Does anyone know if they have them for Canada, or better yet the whole of North America?

There are more than just state stickers in the package.
There are little symbols that most of which are meaningless to me. Like the pairs of square dancers.
I do understand the fish stickers, and the golf stickers... But there are a LOT of little Star stickers.
The [b]state sticker goes on for the trailer being present in that state. [b] Texas was 1st applied when I drove across the "panhandle" on I-40. Later I went back and camped along I-20 in the southern part of the state. [b]Utah was applied for driving from I-80 in Wyoming thru the outskirts of Salt Lake City to pick up I-84 toward Boise Idaho. [b]Pennsylvania was put on for driving I-90 from Ohio to New York.
I put a [b]star on the approximate area where the trailer has camped overnight. The hole in Southeastern New Mexico just appeared one day by itself...

Agree with Frederick - if the wheels roll, you get to sticker the state.
Even if you only cut a corner.
My nickle's worth, for whatever THAT is worth.

The problem with the stickers is that they dry out and the edges curl. Could be something to do with warm climate.

We're missing CO and NM and were thinking about picking those up this fall by going to four corners and seeing the ruins. Our family rule is that you have to camp in the state to sticker it, so we'd have to camp in CO and then move to NM on the way home.
Jim, to answer your question about the North America maps they do make them with all the Canadian provinces and Mexico.

I find those maps to be a little too big for my little 13 Scamp. So, I made a map out of 1/4" plywood, painted it green and add rhinestones to each state that I've been to, even made Alaska. I place a rhinestone on each state my Scamp has traveled through but in thinking about it and looking at my map, I have actually camped in each state.
In 2003, I made about a half dozen extras and gave them out at my Turkey Creek MO gathering as prizes for things like newest trailer, oldest trailer, furthest traveled etc. Those I painted a variety of colors and let the prize winner pick their color.
Oh yes, I did make Canada a couple of years ago prior to my going to Alaska knowing that I would be going through several Provinces. When I put it up on the wall above the US I didn't like the look, just too much stuff for the wall. I still have it and may try it again, maybe the look won't bother me now. I think what really bothered me was the emptiness. Canada is close the same size as the US but with less Provinces/States so it looks sort of empty with little rhinestones and would look even funnier with larger rhinestones than the US.
I just went out and put Canada up. I guess what bothered me is the blue water which I thought I needed for definition. I guess I could cut the water out and put PEI/Nova Scotia etc on the wall separately as well as Vancouver Island. I also would need to repaint the maps so they match in color.

Joy, I think the colour contrast is nice as it is.
Part of the aesthetic problem is that, even though the land mass of the US is almost as big as Canada's, we have all that water around our Arctic islands. Also, typical map projections make Canada seem even bigger. I wonder if there is a web site that lets you generate custom map projections with political boundaries. One could take that to a sign shop, and have cut vinyl stickers made.

Not to complicate state sticker maps any further, but this question came up as well recently.
If you buy a trailer that has a sticker map and some or most is filled out do you leave it on or remove it??
Joy,
Love ur rhinestone map!!

Greg,
I think that's another reason I wasn't keen on putting one on my Scamp. After several years it is likely that the trailer color will change, if only slightly. It might look worse if removed.
Thanks for your comments on my rhinestone map. Something that I didn't say about it is that the rhinestones aren't random. I found a list of state precious stones etc. For example, I used a gold rhinestone for the Golden State - CA, white for silver - NV, gold for Copper country in the UP of MI, white for Crater of the Diamonds - AR, green for the Evergreen, state - WA, etc.

I'm pretty sure this map won't curl up:
