Staying connected while on the road

Most of us are into trailering because occassionally we like to "get away from it all". However there are some who are not uncomfortable checking e-mail once a day for news from friends and family, or to receive e-mailed message digests from a BBN like this one!!

I've been looking at solutions like this and seems Pocketmail (and the Sharp model TM-20 the service uses) is ideal. This is what the unit looks like,

More info at,

Also at,

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...7539725-2631852

The service costs $49.00 for three months, more here,

Works from any payphone, restaurant phone, cell phone or even satellite phones (for the techno snobs among us) :)

Analog cell phones only

Bill, The TM-20 doesn't work with digital cell phones. Go to the pocketmail website for more info (they do recommend a newer device, the PocketMail Composer which is supposed to work with digital cell phones).

I've been using PocketMail for several years, and (alas) I have the TM-20 device... Even so, it's a great service. It really does work from almost any (land line) phone, although every once in awhile I hit a cranky pay phone that won't cooperate.

:cblob

Of course, another drawback is it's just e-mail. No access to the www, which means no checking in on FiberglassRV.com. :nope
