Registry
Yup but as you know here in BC at least unless you claim the trailer to be a home build (which I do not think to many register agents would fall for looking at it) you will need the original Registration from the manufacturer with what ever VIN number you used on it to match... not going to happen in this case.

And, on top of that, standardized 17 digit VIN's are coded with a built in "Check-Sun" system so if you change even one number or make up a number it will bounce.

Go to a site like CarFax for a free VIN check and change one of the numbers in your 17 digit VIN and see what happens. Mathematically there is a better than 90% chance that change alone will come back with a "Invalid VIN" reply.

So sorry to hear about this. I'll try to keep an eye out at my West Vancouver campground. Seen a few Escapes in the past few weeks, but no 19s I don't think.

I think Carol has it about right. This will probably end up in a remote rural location for personal use, not sold. Perhaps for recreation, perhaps for habitation, perhaps for meth. Could be anywhere from Vancouver Island, the recreational areas of inland BC to the Alberta oil fields. No shortage of remote locations in Western Canada. An Escape would be a fantastic hunting or vacation "cabin".

My hitch lock has never given me much confidence, I've always considered it a deterrence, not solution. I wonder about light weight, but still somewhat secure wheel immobolizers? The GPS tracking is very interesting.
