Gina, if it hasn't been registered in, oh say... seven years or so... (check with DMV) then it doesn't exist any more as far as DMV is concerned, and it's a new vehicle in the state. You can register it with a bill of sale on a special title with title insurance. The special clause drops off in three years. Of course, if it's been six years... then all of the back fees are due with penalties...

Gina,

I'm not sure if I caught it in earlier posts in this thread, but Eriba Pucks are quite sought after in the Classic Volkswagen community.

Many of them can be found on www.thesamba.com advertised with VWs. I belive it's the combo of lightweight trailer and German craftsmanship that bring the two together. My 1978 VW Westfalia Van puts out a blistering 93 horsepower. Definitely a lighter trailer needed for that...except it is already a camper.

If the need came up, you could fix that trailer up and have a good chance of selling it to the VW community.

Hi Jeremy,

Yeah, thats where I found this one. And if you read there, you will see how much he wants for this.

The one on eBay is identical, but looks in better shape. Where the heck Frankston, Texas is, I haven't a clue! Looks to be.. definately, in the middle of nowhere.

Frankston = midway between Tyler, Palestine (pal-est-een), Jacksonville, and Athens. (Click the zoom out button about 3 times on the google map.)

Near beautiful Lake Palestine (pal-est-een).

Floor? As in the bottom of the trailer or as in new tile or carpet? Very fuzzy wording.....

I think of "floor" as the structure and "flooring" and being the tile, lino or carpet.

Me too Donna, but I'm not sure everyone does.

I wrote the seller. Very honest.

It's the subfloor, they say it's rotted under the closet and they feel the whole floor needs to be replaced.

Too big a project for me!

Yeah but it only has one bid at this point. If it wouldn't become a bidding war you could afford to go get it and fix it. It would be another Excellent Adventure.

Gina,
You'd better get it home soon, or Ann and I will be traveling. It would be fun to help you figure out how to replace the floor and help catalog the other repairs. I wish I was available to help you bring it home, but after 12 years we are finally making construction progress on the house. I promised Ann that most of the work would be done before we left on our extended, open-ended trip.
Is it towable? Are wheel bearings available? Brakes? Rim and tire size? Workable lights with the right type plug to connect to your Element?
No doubt about your ability to resurrect a Puck, but do you have enough room to do some serious dismantling if necessary? Some floor replacements have required taking the body off the frame and needed work space essentially doubles.
Is there a secure place with electricity and water between work and home where you could work on her? Maybe with enough room to park your Burro?
Wouldn't it be great to have the use of a hanger at an airport? Or even a barn that was weather tight?
Hey, we're all dreaming right along with you Gina.
It's all do-able if tackled one detail at a time.

Kurt & Ann K.
