Storage / parking in Mississauga (Toronto) area ?
I'm nearing the completion of the restoration and starting to look for a place to keep the trailer.
Originally I was planning to keep it on a piece of land that belongs to a friend. I can still do it but; It's an hour and a half drive away from Mississauga and nobody's there for weeks and recently few things "went missing" there so, I'd like a bit more secure place and closer to my apartment so I can take it anytime and go camping. I was looking at some self storage places. Would be nice but for $100 or so a month, that's too pricey for me. Any ideas? Maybe somewhere close on the outskirts of Mississauga?

What is the cost in your area for space outside in a self storage facility? I see customer RV's near the back at many dealer places. Is that an option you could search out? There have to be many small towns within an hours drive that might possibly be less expensive than the bigger cities.

An hour drive to storage... that's four hours wasted time and gas for every trip unless I'd happen to be going in the direction the storage is in. Rather inconvenient and adds to the cost.
Relatively near the Port Credit, where I live in Mississauga, the cheapest I found so far was about $120 a month. Actually, I found one, unsecured, for 60 a month. I'll have to check one that is (supposedly) near at 410 / 10 junction. Advertised for something like $40 a month. About the top what I'm willing to pay but, I wish it was closer. On Friday afternoon, it may be over an hour...
Not too many RV dealers down my way. Couple in Burlington. About 45 minutes away but not (always) in the most convenient direction.

RV Parking
Hello Andrew:
Not sure if you may have checked yet, but I found outside parking for my little trailer through Kijiji Toronto. Under the Real Estate section, there is a storage/ parking heading.
Then you can type in your Postal code and adjust the search distance, then only those with-in your search criteria will come up.
I was looking in the East end, and many came up, found one for
$50/ mth.
Just thought I would pass that along.
Cheers, Jake.

What about marinas in your area? Around here, it is not uncommon to see an RV being stored at a marina. Many of them even have hookups!

Thanks for the suggestions. On Kijiji, one for $50 a month is for a locker way too small to put the trailer inside.
The one at HW 410 / 10 is 40 kilometres away so, about $20 in gas extra for every camping trip to pick it up and drop off. Say, 2 outings a month added to $40 for the space pushes the actual storage cost to $80. A marina storage in the area is way more than that. Still searching. Will have to make up my mind soon - beginning July, the trailer should be ready for the road.

If you belong to a church, check with the older parishioners. Sometimes they're willing to rent their garages out (for cheap). It's a win-win. There's someone that stops by occasionally to check on them too!

Thanks Donna. May be a good idea but I think that my trailer, even if I put it on mini wheels would be too tall to fit into a standard garage. Also, in Mississauga, AFAIK, it is illegal to park a TT in a driveway for extended periods of time.
