Today (13 Feb) was our warmest this week, cooler than normal, but not tooo bad in low 60s. I suited up (Layers work well ) and took a ride on my XT250 Yamaha and put in my longest ride in a while, 53 miles for 2 hrs.
I rode up to the base of the Organ Mts. from our home in Las Cruces, via University Dr. & Dripping Springs Road then along the base of the Organs on Baylor Canyon Rd. then US 70 to cross over the Organs at San Augustine Pass (5,700+ feet) then down to the Aguirre Spring BLM area and up to the Campground. Very neat ride. More snow on the mountains on the east side as I figured it would. Several cars, one tent and a truck camper were there. Saw one skunk at a camp site as I rode into the campground area.
It was nice getting out.
Some photos from the Aguirre Springs BLM Rec' Area.
