As any Texan knows, the "home of the 12th man" is Texas A&M. That goes back to 1922 (54 years before Seattle had an NFL team). To this day, the entire student body stands throughout all home football games to show their readiness to play if needed.

LOL. Incompetent officiating....... Do you mean sort of like the Golden Tate "TD reception" last season against the Packers?

They (the officials) do seem to make it tougher than it needs to be on occasion.

It is a great story. When A&M complained because they had actually trademarked the term "12th man" Seattle agreed to pay them for licensing rights.

Patriots fan, rooting for Broncos

I started rooting for the Broncos in 1960 and continued through the Elway years until moving to MA and becoming a Patriots fan. The recent AFC game has returned my loyalty to the Broncos, even with Peyton Manning. I still have AFL loyalty besides. I recall the old Broncos/Seahawks rivalry.

I am not much of a football fan, but my understanding is that the "pre-game show" is the part where all of the men in costumes run up and down the field with a ball and bump into each other for an hour. Then, the "game" is the concert in the middle of the field where everyone gets angry if pieces of the performers costume falls off. The "game" is then followed by the "post game show" where the men in costumes come back on the field and fight some more and throw a ball back and forth. Meanwhile, those people who could not get tickets to the game will go there anyway and sit in the parking lot drinking and eating the whole time..... I think I would rather be in the parking lot.

Steve,

Your thread has exposed a phenomena where so many folks, not interested in football, take the time to express their lack of interest. I guess their not wasting time watching football affords them more time to develop their witty comments opposing watching it. To each their own, as long as it doesn't harm others.

Since Richard Sherman is on the Seahawks I've had to look beyond the superficial personas these guys project. I don't dislike him as much now as I used to.

Seahawk is another name for the osprey, or fish eagle. But as used in the "football team" sense, some folks place the Seahawks in the "chicken" subgroup of the bird family.

As Denver will find out on Sunday, though, even a chicken can be right fierce!

According to our local paper, Aaron Rodgers the Packers Quarterback is blaming there playoff loss to San Francisco on 1) Playing in the cold ! 2) Poor field conditions ! 3) Poor officiating ! The sad part is the locals believe him
