Trailer: Escape 17 ft
Posts: 8,317
Got the new Escape and really wanted to get rid of the 30-year-old tent trailer. I had a guy who was extremely interested, kept coming around, offered to make a deposit, but never showed up with it. He claimed he would pay $550 last Friday and again didn't show.

I posted the trailer on Craig's List at 3:30pm today. At 3:45 I got my first call. Second call half an hour later. Second caller came to see it, made a $300 deposit on the listed price of $675. All done by 8pm.

And, I am a happy camper.

To steal an old chestnut from boaters:
"The 2 happiest days of Tent-trailer ownership are the day you buy it, and the day you sell it."
Congratulations!

Heres a pic of the tent railer we just sold to our neighbour(s).
Its a 1968 Emperor (I bought it used in 1970) which I just changed the covering on back in 2001!
Thats how long the old canvas lasted (with real good maintenance).
We DO wish we'da kept it but the Egg seems to be by far the more 'funner' way to go r/ving, LOL!!!

Ya - we **considered** a TT. ... DW decided that EVEN WITH heat and air, you are STILL in a tent.
AND we chatted w/ a Scap D19 owner and HE pointed out that as a former TT owner, he is MUCH happier w/ his Scamp. If he needs a nap... Stop and hop. No need to set up... yada, yada. And he never has to put it away wet.

But then I suppose I **AM** preaching to the choir here, right?

Anywho, that was just ONE of the factors that moved us to forgo the TT and have a little class
