the Coleman battery powered camp shower: discontinued!

Reading around this site and elsewhere I've heard nothing but great things about this gadget, so I added it to my shopping list for outfitting the Burro. (Boy am I enjoying getting my little clubhouse kitted out!) My husband and I have a trip planned coming up soonish, during which something like this might prove very useful.

Alas, a few days of googling around a lot of shopping sites revealed the bad news that it's been discontinued! Kmart's WWW site lists it as some kind of cruel tease, and Amazon has it listed as well, with a note that they don't know when it's going to come back.

I was getting kind of sad-blue-face about it, but a brand new in box genuine Coleman camp shower turned up on an ebay search a couple of days ago. Optimism again! But bidding ended last night, and I lost out in a bidding war that went up to $62. I bet the seller was pleased by that, certainly.

I finally ran one to ground on a nationwide Craigslist search, in Winchester VA. New-never-used, it had been listed since February. I contacted the seller and offered an extra $25 over his asking price of $10 to make dragging it to the post office worth his time, and voila! I now have a SUPER RARE collector's item Coleman camp shower on the way.

I also experienced your frustration when looking for a pump recently. I use them to get water into my tank. I was using the Reliance one..it finally gave up the ghost.

Not being able to find the Reliance OR Coleman one, I stumbled across a Northwest Territory on at KMart.

As a shower.. it stinks, but the pump works well and is suited for my use.

Did you ever happen to look at boat bilge pumps ?
Of course you would have to put you water in a bucket to pump it into your water tank.
