The holy grail of retro-RV's? split from Hi I am...

Donna, thank you. Judging by your # of posts, you are clearly active on here. I see a lot of Boler-like trailers have come and gone over the years.. wondering, what is considered the rarest or most sought-after fiberglass RV no longer in production? Or: The holy grail of retro-RV's?

Well, I suppose it would be a different "rare" depending on the poster. But for me it's the Geographic.

Yeah, I've been around for a while.... like, 2003.

Holiday House - 1960 Model "X" - Geographic
Only 5 (or maybe 6) were ever made before the factory caught fire and burned, destroying the molds. This is the only known example left. The present owner invested over $20,000.00 in it's restoration. It is for sale, or was the last I knew...

It can be yours for only $136,000.00 USD according to a Craigslist ad.

I know its not the Geographic but I took these photos of a 1961 Holiday House at the Tin Can Tourist meet last week. I loved this trailer on the inside. Suspect I would luv it more in the fiberglass version.

That was some really interesting reading!
Why does it seem that most of the older fiberglass RV's were made in either California or by our northern neighbors?
I just drove from Lancaster, PA to Charleston, SC and did NOT see one fiberglass rv!
btw....we did see the jet that landed in the Hudson on it's way to a museum.

Those trailers both get my pulse racing. Another one is the Bonair Oxygen. I'd place it #2 behind the Geographic, actually... and much more attainable.

I want one of those new VW trailers that look old, just add air conditioning and a way to use a shower and bathroom. My dream trailer. Welcome to Dub box, the retro two berth caravans that puts the cool back into comfortable camping. - Dub-Box Retro Caravan
