The Oneida Community

My 1st job in high school was with a delivery company. We had a contract with a local Pharmacy to deliver prescriptions to the residents. This was before the property was opened to the public. I have since gone back and taken the tour, which I recommend to anyone who is a student of the history of this country. A good book about the place is "Without Sin; The Life and Death of the Oneida Community"

You have given the term a new meaning. I'll have to look into it. Hadn't heard the term Christian Communist before and didn't know they were related.
Around here, in Southwestern Ontario, the Onieda Community means a part of the Six Nations of the Mohawk Confederacy and the indian reservation on the Grand River near Brantford Ont where they came after the American War of Independance. These include the Mohawk, Onieda, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, Delaware, and the Tuscarora.
It's a good day when you can learn something new.

That would be The Oneida Nation, which is a completely different thing. There is an Oneida Street here in San Diego. I always wondered how it got the name.
