Oh, wow! What an idea. It'd be perfect for a Compact with the rear door. You could have an awning that rolled out and the add-a-room walls would just pull up from the floor and attach to the awning. They'd be on rollers, like window shades, so when you broke camp, they'd automatically retract.
How cool would that be?

Go to the M.O.A.T. posts to discover the appropriate vehicles to put on that trailer.

A real thought. Elsie has both powered and push wheel chairs. The powered one won't go in scamp or truck under conopy, so I have given some thought to doing something on this order. We once had an old 24-26' camping trailer frame made into utility trailer. We put an old PU camper on it and had plenty of room for all other camping gear. The convenience of a porch was great. Someone has to do it!

And then we rememeber why we actually bought our little eggs. Just so we wouldnt have to lug around all that extra junk. Simplify is the best solution. Less is best. Spend more time outdoors with el natural. Right?

I was all ready to suggest going up from a 13' trailer to a 16', and modifying the entrance area to accept the power chair, leaving at least as much useful furniture and cabinet space in remainder of the trailer as the 13' would have... then I saw you were already in a 16' Scamp. Want to try a Trillium 5500? (5.5 metres, 18 feet). The longer trailer with the cargo inside has the advantage of clean and dry cargo, as long as it can be left outside when camping (under a cover, in this case) or worked around in the interior (maybe in this case, if it can be rolled to the far side of the trailer, depending on chair size).

Yes, but sometimes the "junk" really does contribute to the experience, whether it us the wheelchair in Renee's example which is presumably necessary, or mountain bikes to use to get further out into an area than the trailer can go, or whatever else it takes to do whatever is the purpose of the trip.

You might also consider one of the rear-entrance trailers, like Lite-House, if you can find a used one, as they are more likely to be wheelchair friendly.

There's a Fiberglass Class "C" Motorhome with rear Hatch on ebay. Someone did a similar mod to a Boler.

In what I assume was a coincidence of timing, while this discussion was going Gina posted a molded fiberglass example of this type of trailer, the Rallymaster Pod; Roger looks prophetic!
