The Very Real Benefits Of Going Camping

I almost didn't post this since you have to view some internet ads to read the whole article. Still the article makes some good points. John

In his essay Nature, Ralph Waldo Emerson dives into the healing powers of the wilderness. "In the presence of nature," he wrote, "a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows."

It may be century-old wisdom, but his theory still holds true today. There's just something about losing yourself -- not to mention cell service -- in the woods. In fact, there are very real health benefits. We may not be able to transport ourselves back to Emerson's quaint cabin, but we can certainly head outdoors. Below are just a few reasons to ditch it all for a few days and go camping.

Another Benefit

There certainly are benefits.

One benefit is escaping the every day pressures of surrounding friends and family. It's not that they are not liked and loved, but they require a very significant overhead, between the fun times and the problem times. While on the road there little problems and repetitive fun with familiar others are not part of your everyday.

If you're not an extended traveler you may find the though bordering on the evil or selfish.

It doesn't prevent us from giving a fair amount of travel time to others, generally a more intense time. We have spent tow months as part of the lives of our Seattle grandchildren, or taken them to Alaska for a month. A month in Alaska can be more meaningful than 30 birthday parties.

Attacking no one..just a thought about some road benefits.

Amen

Agree 100%
Family & familiar friends are fine, but freedom first.
