well that sounds good!
Actually, my choice was $48 for a quart of grey OR
$124 for a gallon of white!

...and when i calculated the coverage area a quart was more than enough...i just finished applying the third coat this afternoon and had ~3oz left over.

& I figured nobody was gonna really see the inside of the well as a glossy white finish a few miles down the road...so i went cheap Joe

This has nothing (well sorta) to do with our Parkliner...but i gotta say this about that...

I spent about 3 hours getting all the ~30 month old dicor sealant off the van's fantastic fan and fiberglass roof. It was a PITArss... What craziness that the sealant can't have some magic release word... like Abracadabra! and walla, a clean roof!

OK, so tomorrow i will go up there and unscrew the old fan (still works fine - probably put it up on ebay or here in our for sale section? just a few bucks + s/h?)...then i will clean the area and prep for putting in the nice MaxxFan that will match the Parkliner's unit! Yippie!!

Back tomorrow with pictures.
Thom

So, what's the verdict for installing the new MaxxAire, more Dicor or go the big bucks and use Eternabond tape? BTW - where do you find all this energy? Is Cari the true driving force behind all these projects?

Well...

I hadn't thought of using the Eternabond on the MaxxFan... i have about ~60 feet left on a 100 foot roll i use around the Mobile Suite. Maybe that is the best route to go?

On finding energy? I am semi-retired at 55...work bankers hours 1/2 day 8am to noon. Life is good.

Cari driving force? Well, a happy wife is a happy hubby!

OK back as promised with pictures of the fantastic fan swapped out to MaxxFan on our van conversion. It took me about 4 hours total time to get it done...but this is out of my area of normal to-do's so it's all good

Now all yo have to do is switch the white opaque cover with the optional smoke cover which allows a lot more daylight and more star light.

On the white verses smoke... my wife really didn't like all the light that the smoke cover on the fantastic fan let in. . . so we ordered the opaque white for the Parkliner, and now have a matching opaque white for the van...She is a happy camper!

My best naps occur with the TV blaring, an end table light shining in my face and a comfortable chair for the ole bod.... when I'm camping, whether the vent is smoke or solid white won't matter... because I'm not at home... I'm camping!

YMMV!

I don't sleep much anymore since my bariatric surgery... 6 hours is like sleeping in... but if I go to bed at 3am... the sun poking in at 7am is no fun...and the blackout curtains arent gonna work when the vent is open for airflow lol.

Hey Thom, how much light does the Maxair let in when its open in comparison to the fantastic fan?

My ability to sleep is similar to Donna's... anytime, anywhere, anyhow

deryk, the opaque MaxxFan lets in ~1/2 as much light as the smoked Fantastic Fan...maybe even less. We like it LOTS better.

BUT...I can also cheat!

Some of you know i create BrainWave Entrainment (BWE) audio files for relaxation, sleep, focus/study, etc (link to some of my audio files free to download and use in your audio player or PC.)

And i also have a pair of Audio Visual Stimulation goggles. I have the Procyon AVS found at MindPlace. Awesome device. Put'em on and you are either in dream land in less than 30 minutes or on a LSD type trip-the-light-fantastic thingy without the drugs It is all in whichever program you choose. Fun Stuff!

Cari was able to completely cure her insomnia using the Procyon...she sleeps like a baby now (though we do have other tech stuff to aid that too _Link to EarthPulse we use_)

You remember i stated some time ago i'm a GADGET FREAK!!??

I've been using your Power Nap files to catch a quick afternoon catnap. Works like a charm through a pair of Able Planet noise canceling headphones and my I-pod. I get a 20 minute nap and wake up without feeling groggy. Ready to get back to whatever I was doing before with more energy.
