Oh! I just got my first fixer-upper burro and wanted an awning - but settled for less. Was it expensive and difficult to add? I keep going out to the driveway to make sure it is still there. My neighbors must think I am unbalanced.

About 10 minutes to set up camp for me. Longer to pack up and leave, but most of that time is just securing stuff. I also like to clean the kitchen and bathroom before I leave, and dump the tanks, so I have less cleaning to do at home.
I've found I enjoyed both tent camping and trailer camping more when I don't bring too much stuff.

depends how much stuff you want to set up. and who is being set up for. for me a chair is all i need. wife might need awning out, chair, table.

After a couple of years we have it down to a science. The husband jockeys into our site while I check out the facilities. He levels, chocks, de-tows, starts the hot water heater, and plugs in the water and electric. I bring out the rug, chairs, cooking table, grill, and set up the inside. The awning works best if we pull it out together. We hang the lights, position the picnic table where we want it, and uncork. 30 minutes tops arrival to wine!

Hi Donna,
Where can we find the pictures from gathering at Nehalem Bay State Park?
Thank you.

A quick overnight stop late at night - No time, just leave it hooked to the tow, go inside and prepare for bed.
Boondocking setup of everything - 10 minutes tops with two of us. Back in leveleing the trailer side to side (with wife setting leveling blocks), unhook and level front to rear (both of us), My wife goes around and sets the stabilizers while I put out the awning and patio mat. Then we pull out the table, stove and chairs, plug in the BBQ. Then it is time to crack a wobbly pop.
When using services, add a few minutes to hook them up.
We do a lot of tent camping out of a canoe. I usually set up the tent with bags and mats, while my wife sets up the cooking area. This only takes about 10 minutes, and about 5 more if we set up a tarp.
Like others mentioned, I have traveled with others that seem to take forever, whether a tent or an RV. I know one couple where the husband does everything setting up. If that were our case, I would be traveling alone.

pretty quick.... unless you count the time picking out the spot
Or arranging the picnic table in just the right location.
I like how my brother-in-law solved that second issue. Table goes at right angles where outside plug on camper is. Done!

I guess I'm pretty typical - most setups take about 30 minutes (the dog doesn't really offer much assistance). I unhook, level, hook up utilities, cover a bed for the dog, fill her water dish and set up the xpen for her. Then it's gin/tonic time! I usually save awnings, canopies for the picnic table, getting the bike/boats unloaded, etc for the next day
